Why are recent reviews bad and average metacritic score?

I thought this game was good.. and yes I know this is the older one not Shards of Darkness.

let's face it, this game had some potential but failed in many aspects. Still can be fun if you manage to keep your calm after dying the 100 th time cause some basic control donMt work properly.

And yeah when he fall to hus death, tghe devs thought it was a good idea that Styx yell ♥♥♥♥ you while falling. So that stupid mechanic refuse to grab on the ledge and you hear them clearly say ♥♥♥♥ you. It feel like thatMs their answer when asled for fix anyway...

You're supposed to hold down the direction key or control stick while in the air to direct you. The controls are fine. The controls were fine from day one, and I'm a casual gamer with bad reflexes and am terrible at platformers.

They actually increased the auto-grab to a ridiculously large radius - at some points causing Styx to grab ledges you really don't want him to - and people somehow still complain about this. But it's actually not hard.

Among those recent reviews are someone who claims the games too repetitive but lacks the achievement for completing mission 2, Someone whose only complaint is the game gets too hard another complaint of bad gameplay that has only got the achievement for extinguishing torches. Then we have the guy who is upset about the combat system being so hard and punishing which is whats intended as this is a stealth game not just another action game with a few stealth elements lazily added in.

Now don't get me wrong there are some very well thought out negative reviews and I myself have barely touched the game yet but the point I'm making is that you have to look at the actual facts of what the reviews say and the progress reviewers have made in the game and not just what percentage of people clicked the red button instead of blue this month.
