HERESY! Is the 1995 3DO Space Hulk better then 2013 Space Hulk?
Watch this gameplay and decide for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOFdKSdZq4w

Hear the battle chatter going back and forth! Each squad member named in voice! The suspense builds till battle is met. While this Space Hulk is a fine, decent game I can't help but think the previous incarnation was better even if it was graphically inferior. The developers of the 3DO version nailed movement and voice perfectly, each hamoniously synchronized to gameplay!

I like them all. I don't feel the older ones were better--they were just different.

I had the 3DO version, I loved the voice acting in that game, fond memories indeed. I like this game as well, I just want to see it really come together. Fix bugs, add content and polish!

Is it better? Is it worse? Hard to say, considering they're completely different types of games.

Apples, oranges and all that...

Yeah more voice acting (and higher quality of it) would be nice. ;c Along with some cinematics (heck, be it in-game cinematics) between the missions. These two things would improve this game SO MUCH.

Really? I think the voice acting is quite well done. As for in-game cinematics, please, please no. This is not XCOM, nor do I want it to be. I like the briefings exactly as they are (right to the point), and don't want development/art resources wasted on meaningless cinematics that aren't needed. No offense, but I think it would make the game worse, not better.

They have fixed most of the bugs? The game is highly playable!

Since we already have the shoulder camera, and it's a great feature that really helps capture the atmosphere of the game, would it be possible to offer individual replays of the shoulder cam view of any terminator as part of the mission debrief?

O.o drama much? The only bug that was game stopping was in mission 6 when the game was released, and it was patched *within 12 hours*.

Unless for some reason you can't run the game on your computer after 1.0.3, the remaining bugs are minor or easily worked around. If they "ruin" your experience, perhaps you're better off with console games.

I don't think the old ones were very good. The mix of squad command and first person action really didn't work well. Space Hulk works much better turn-based.

The voice acting is ok, but it would be nice if the marines that weren't wearing helmets didn't sound as though they were. I haven't ever played the game in the video above than back and forth banter is pretty entertaining although its interesting to hear the evelution of how marines voices sound. I am a fan of the more modern day space helmet voices. The guys in this video sound more like what I would imagine gaurdsmen sound like

I prefer this one cos it's the first one that plays on a computer I own. Never been able to try the older ones

That's actually a good point. The ones without helmets should be without the echoing effect.

Ahhh loved this game. Played it to death on my 3DO. Took weeks to complete. It was so atmospheric and creepy, especially the voices. If anyone knows how to get it to run on modern PC's I am all ears lol.
