Rules of the Game
I really enjoy this PC Version of Space Hulk (even if solo the AI is still kinda weak)

But the one point I really really really dislike in this game is the terrible manual of it.
Why couldnt you put in for example a slightly modified version of the Space Hulk boardgame rules (changed those parts that act differently in the PC Game) as a PDF?

Or atleast spent some more time on your "librarium-manual" to contain ALL important informations.
For example Mission 11 gives you a new piece of equipment for the mission.
"Portable Forcefield Generators" but nowhere are they really explained.
They work kinda like the Librarian Forcefield I think just that they can somehow be destroyed aswell. But the rules for that? Are they automaticly destroyed with the 2nd attack of a genestealer (5 out of 5 tests so far they hold exactly 1 attack 2nd destroyed it) or what?

Some clearer written rules all in all would be nice especially for those who havent played the original boardgame.

from the mission book, a GS may attack a FF generator for 6 AP and SM for 4 AP, then its flipped to show that it is damaged, a damage generator that gets attacked a second time is removed from play. so that is correct, but I don't have the rulebook, only the mission book which I was able to find as a PDF download, all the rulebook downloads have been, you need a credit card check or to buy an account with the place, its really hard to find the rulebook, while the mission book you can find with ease

but I agree that the rulebook at least in part should be included, including no sustained fire bonus in mission 10, and other specail rules for the missions,. otherwise it will end up confusing people, and people have many times have asked about the mission 10 thing a lot.

so yeah, the rule book some shape or form needs to be in,

I guess you've found a copy of the 3rd edition rules already?

If not, have a Google[www.google.co.uk].

like I said, I have tried, Scribd needs a paid account to download the pdf from them, there are a few that needs a credit card check, so its not as easy as you think, unless there is a easy and safe way to download it fro free?

edit found a place

but some links I don't always trust, but that seems to be ok and virus free

Its a good point you make, especialy about the Portable Forcefield Generators. I was pretty excited to see them appear in the 11th mission as I remember them from one of the old board game expansions, but on refelection, they could do with a little explanation for the uninitiated.

Its been a while since I last played the old game, but I think the rule was a Stealer had to spend an entire turn in melee with the field generator. Don't know if the exact rules applies to this PC verson, but the idea was the Steal was wearing the energy field down, but If somehow the Stealers attack could be interupted before the generator is destroyed, it could build feild density back up to full strength and require a full round of melee to disable it again.

@matthew There was a reason I didn't post a direct link....

Games Workshop rulebooks are copyrighted material; by direct linking to them in these forums you are likely to get your account banned for copyright infringement.

Just to clarify on my previous post, I'm going by the first edition rules for the Power Field Generators which I think were introduced with the Deathwing expansion. As I understand the later editions of the game rules did vary somewhat.

your right, sorry, I have edited my post to remove the link

I can agree a better manual would have been nice. My Space Hulk experience was from the first edition of the board game, and there were things that were new to me, as I was out of the hobby when the third edition board game this is based on came out.

About the Generators I just noticed that when you throw one there is a small line in the log with "Placing indestructable Forcefield Generator for 1 turn" so it seems they vanish after full turn even without a Genestealer attacking them?

And @Thejumpingjawa
Yes I could download in illegal PDF about the rules from somewhere in the internet.
But I expect when I buy for nearly 30 bucks a game that it already contains a set of rules that I dont need to make an illegal act to get one.
