Mission 10 "Defend"
Yea, so appears sustained fire doesn't work on this mission, apparently clearing Jams doesn't work either (on overwatch with extra Action points). So you have to roll 6's for everything to happen on the one missions so far where getting into overwatch positions really matter.

This game is a joke, I can't believe some people are defending it so vigorously when there is so very much wrong. Every thread there's people saying "You were told it was gonna be like this nub, l2read!"

Well I read, I read a lot, I also play space hulk the board game a lot and never, ever, have I played a game where several of the most important rules for Terminators just stopped existing.

The "no sustained fire" for mission 10 is straight from the boardgame.

Clearing jams with CP works in that mission as it does in all others frmo what I can tell (played and won it twice so far).

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do jams clear. I had two guys with 4 CP both on overwatch, both jam, nobody clears the jams, stealers run up a further 3 squares and munch him

Sounds like a bug, then, certainly not something that happens all the time.

Edit:
Replayed on hard just to make sure, the only oddity I encountered was a single instance of action cam during the genestealer turn despite having it disabled.
I did get my banner reward this time around as well, after having gotten the mission and achievement on the first two attempts.

Was playing that mission last night, and I can't say I found that unjamming was bugged.

I rolled 6 CP's but didn't need to use any, in the following Genestealer turn I used five on a single Terminator just unjamming his gun over and over as the dice gods cackled at me.

Never had a problem with auto-unjam, but I did have a time where the heavy gunner's reload button was unselectable even with full AP and CP, which caused him to die and my defense to be broken and my mission to be lost when I had almost won...

Was it in mission 12? In that mission Brother Leon starts the game already on his last case of ammo, and therefore cannot reload.

I've been trying to get past this mission for days. Unjamming works fine for me, but the unexplained change to the laws of physics is stupid, and boardgame-authentic or not, it makes no sense that sustained fire is suddenly just not possible for one map.

I was hoping that while they made this game, they would stop and think while they did it. Maybe remove some of the more stupid elements from the tabletop version.

You win some you lose some. There are some missions that favour the Terminators but Defend is definitely where the 'Stealers are having their party.

False!

From the rulebook: "In addition, the limited amounts of ammunition that the Space Marines have remaining means that they do not receive the sustained fire bonus in this mission."

Conserving ammo means less volume of fire which means a reduced chance to hit which means no sustained fire bonus.

Thing What Kicks....Where the hell is the rule book? no mention in the mission briefing of low ammo. But after playing the map it is a good idea to balance the SM handicap a little, I just thought the game was bugged when i didn't get any bonus

It comes with copies of the boardgame. I don't know if it's accessible online anywhere, I haven't looked in a while... Admittedly the documentation here should use more from the rulebook.

It is clearly stated in the mission breifings that you do not get sustain fire in mission ten due to having low ammunition. So, ya not Full Controls fualt there, they are just following the game that they where basing this game on. Also mission ten is rather easy for terminators if you know how to win it :)

Which would be even *slightly* useful if I had a rulebook, but since I'm playing a computer game that was downloaded digitally, none of what you just said has any value whatsoever.

Another day, and I still haven't beaten it. Enlighten me, oh master of strategy. Tell me how to make this mission easy. I'll... I'll buy you a cookie.

A digital cookie? I might need to UPS it otherwise.

It is writen in game, in your mission objectives, thay you have no sustained fire for this mission. But I think it not writen why (lack of ammo).

It also took me more thant one try to complete this mission in SP at hard difficulty. But the challenge was welcome.
