Hitting a dash on an upward slope reduce your speed greatly, hitting a dash on a downward slope increases your speed greater then a dash jump.
A dash jump while running is always better then a dash while running
If you hit a downward slope or bumper and got the room it is possible to keep your momentum for great distance with a roll.Far better then a dash jump. When falling press down and if you hit the ground press jump.Release down and press down again if you are going down and press jump again if you hit the ground. To practice this go to this week weekly challenge.Look for the first downward slope and dash at the beginning of the slope till you at the end of the slope then press jump.It might take some practice but it is essential.
There are several jump heights and with that distances. But they all go as fast. Most players try a tactic and usually stick with it.Try to differ the heights and see if you go faster.(because you can fit more dashes or come better out a jump).
When the wind blows sideways if you jumpkick you gain more speed.
Mix jumpkicks into your runs.If you just cannot make it to a platform without floating or you want to do a dash jump without gaining height. Many great examples can be found in dojo and usually in collect lums challenges.
Hope it helps
