Game Won't Start
The game won't start when I click "Play." Instead, my Steam icon turns green to indicate that I'm in the game for about 5 seconds, then goes back to blue. It doesn't get as far as uPlay's sign in process so I'm effectively stuck with nothing. So far I've tried verifying the cache integrity (it was fine), re-installing the game, re-installing uPlay, exiting an entering Steam, and trying to play in offline mode on both Steam and uPlay. Any other suggestions?

Bumping this because I've had the same issue with ubisoft titles for a while now. Since the new update to uPlay I have to restart my computer every time I want to play a game that uses it. It's a temperary fix and I hope they solve the problem soon, though it's been this way for a few months now.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Uplay client. You might have an out dated Uplay client/launcher.

Yes, I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Uplay client. This has been a constant thorn in my side ever since I picked up the last Splinter Cell. Never had issues before, but suddenly I had to go through hell to play Blacklist for a few days and now I can't run any Ubisoft games.

I would've picked Rayman Legends up immediately, but I couldn't even launch the demo. These issues are running rampant and it's an excercise in frustration trying to play any Ubisoft games on PC. I have yet to see a consistant fix that worked for everyone and most of the "fixes" don't actually do anything.

Please fix Uplay or, better yet, dump it all together. It's unfortunate to hide such great games behind such a ridiculous barrier.

Done mutiple times, downloaded directly from the Ubisoft website. It's not just with Rayman though, seems to be a bug with the new version of Uplay, since it was working fine before the 3.0 update.

Again, the issue seems to only occur when launching Uplay a second time after a restart. The software intializes and then immidately quits with no warning.

I have the exact same issue running on with this game. I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that I have 2 GPU's (GT740 and Intel HD4600), but I didn't manage to narrow it down yet.

you need to clear your steam appcache. completely exit steam by clicking Steam>exit in the steam menu bar. (it should not be in your task bar now). Now navigate to Program Files (x86)\steam and delete the whole appcache folder. Reboot your computer and then relaunch steam.

Had this problem, I ran the .exe in as an administrator in compatibiliity mode for windows 7... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft.

im having the same exact issue; i tried everything but nothing happens, it just launches for a few seconds and stops immediately

If it can help anyone. I had a similar issue and actually going to the Ubisoft website and manually installing a new version of Ubisoft Connect (ex Ubisoft Game Launcher) ensured I was able to connect and play the demo of Rayman Legend
