FIXED // Can't access Challenge mode a.k.a. 'Ubisoft servers are momentarily unavailable. Please try again later'
UPDATE: problem fixed by following Denissimo's and JCD's solution - changing your region and date/time settings in Windows to a country that is officially supported. List of the countries and other details on how to solve the problem can be found in the posts #22 and #23.

Thanks again, Denissimo and JCD!

Got the game on Steam and I can't access Challenge mode for some reason - I just get that error message from the thread title: 'Ubisoft servers are momentarily unavailable. Please try again later'. Got the same message when I tried to access leaderboards while playing Rayman Legends demo earlier this week.

One other message I get is: "Must connect to the Internet to play" or something along those lines when I select unlocked challenges in the game notification section in the main menu.

I've tried restarting Steam and Uplay clients, uninstalling and then reinstalling Uplay, verifying game cache on Steam, restarting PC, putting both Uplay and Rayman Legends on the list of exceptions in my firewall, turning off firewall completely, changing ports in the firewall options to ports Uplay needs...

Does anyone have any idea how can I get this to work?

Btw, I've played PS3 demo of Legends and I could access leaderboards without any issues. Also, I did manage to play some Far Cry 3 multiplayer last year, so it probably shouldn't be a problem with ports (I guess, but then again, I'm no network expert).

Also have the same problem. This game is fantastic, but everything about online component is sh*t.

I think Ubi server are down.
Got this issue around 1 a.m, was playing challenge mode before and it was ok.

Hmm, could be, I'm not sure when I checked it for the first time. But still, some of the people from my friend list (and some NeoGAF posters) said they can play challenges just fine. I don't have any problems with any other game when I try to play them online, so I have no idea what's going on here.

I have the same problem, as I think you might have seen on Neogaf yesterday. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the servers being down. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of and I'm out of ideas. So I issued a support ticket last night, we'll see if they can be of any help (doubtful).

My friend can play challenges, but I can't. Also the game gave him wrong country flag - he's from Europe but Ubisoft thought it would be nice to give him USA flag anyway. Waiting for patch I guess, hope it will resolve KungFoot problem too.

I have exactly the same problem, still getting the message 'Ubisoft servers are momentarily unavailable. Please try again later' when I try to access the Challenges. I haven't seen any country flag in the game.Where can i check if the game gave me the wrong flag too? My opinion is that when the game officialy launches in the US that tha Challlenge mode will start to work.

Not trying to brag but the servers are working for me without issue. I'm in Australia if that helps. Hope it gets up and running for everyone shortly.

It should show your flag when you finally open leaderboards/challenges. And yeah, I certainly hope that challenges and leaderboards will finally be available to all after it launches in US. Otherwise... dunno, we have great game without one of its really interesting elements :/

Still not working. I submited a ticket to Ubisoft support and got a response to attach a screenshot of the problem, which I did and updated the ticke.Let's see wha the respons will be.
Beeblebrox 1 września 2013 o 2:42
Did you get any response from them? I tried contacting them on Twitter, and here's what they told me:

"Try temporarily disabling any firewalls or antivirus programs to see if you are able to connect to the servers."
"Be sure these ports are open; TCP ports: 80, 13000, 13005, 13200-13999 Let me know if it helps."

Tried doing both, but with no success. But if anyone else managed to make it work (especially this second "solution" with port opening), be sure to share the details of how you did it with us unlucky ones.

No success for me either... :(
jcd.raider 1 września 2013 o 3:42
They haven't contacted me yet. All those ports I already had open, because I had to do it to make multiplayer in Trials Evolution work, which worked for that game.It doesn't work here.I tried disabling my antivirus program and windows firewall(I don't use anything else) but that didn't help either. So no success for me also :( I doubt I will get different answer to my ticket then the one they already gave you on Twitter, Beeblebrox. So we're pretty much screwed :( I still hope when the game launches in the US that all will start to work normaly, but we have to wait and see. BTW I updated the ticket and said that I already tried all the things they said on Twitter with no success.Doubt it will help. Ubisoft support is notoriously bad :(

Btw, where did you open those ports? In Windows Control Panel/Firewall Advanced Settings, or somewhere in your router options? I tried opening them in my Control Pannel/Firewall blah blah - I made new 'rule' with those ports open, and then opened them again for Rayman and Uplay - no luck.

Btw, I managed to see my flag when I finished one of the Invaded (speedrun) levels - for some reason, game gave me French flag (I live in Bosnia), but I still couldn't connect to the servers. Also, I thought that my version of the game could cause problems (I got it as a gift from some Russian dude on Steam in exchange for TF2 keys), but it isn't listed as RU version or anything - in my transaction history it just states "Rayman Legends preorder".

It'd be really nice if Ubi sorted this out - I really, really want to try out daily and weekly challenges.
jcd.raider 1 września 2013 o 5:48
I opened those ports directly in my router options. I haven't finished any of the invaded levels, I will try that.Probably I see some flag too (I'm from Serbia). I also got the game for TF2 keys and also it syays Rayman Legends Preorder in my transaction history.I don't think that's the problem, that we got th egame that way I mean. probably it's some kind of region restriction or in the code or it could be anything else, I don't know.Maybe modifying some .cfg file or some line would solve the problem I don't know. I hope it will be sorted out in the next couple of days.I also want to try daily and weekly challeneges.
