Rayman 1 was a 2D platformer and yeah, it's one of my favourite... so much memories! it was the best of that time.
Rayman 2 The great escape had the best plot of the series with a very dark atmosphere compared to the other games, every gamer child born from the 90' possibly know that it was by then a masterpiece.
Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc sold less but it's my favourite actually, I possibly have played more than 400 hours in this game since I was a kid. The journey was epic even if the story of the game weren't all that interesting, with all those costumes and the excellent combat and score system. The score system was what made it the Rayman game with the most replay value, but only for competion guys, I personally have made over 600.000 points and the WR is around 859k, the developers though the max was 500.000 xD!
There are other great 3D platformers like Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Mario Land 3D, Sonic Generation, Super Monkey Ball, Jack and Dexter, Ratchet & Clank, Spyro, Crash bandicoot. 3D platformers are "meh" ? I don't think so but that's my opinion :) The Rayman series really need a new 3D game to continue it's journey instead of trying to reach the casual players that wants a 'cute' mario-like game.
'And the number of the forces of the horsemen [Rabbids on horseback] is two myriads of myriads [20,000 x 20,000], and I heard the number of them. '
(Revelations 9:16)
See? It's only a matter of time. The sooner you submit to the Rabbids revolution, the easier the transition to serving your new overlords will be =)
This is actually Bad Rayman, Dark Rayman is a bit different.
I see you arguing about this all over this forum, yes we get it. You really like 3D Rayman games. I'm replaying Rayman 2 right now and you know what? Its easy. Its really easy. Origins was much harder, so stop saying they are trying to reach the casual players. I'm not saying that Rayman 2 is a bad game, I love this game and will always do. But Rayman Origins is a great game too and Legends will be pretty great too (probably).
Rayman never had a very serious story, not even Rayman 2 was that serious. Sure, pirates captured everyone and enslaved them. But thats it, the serious stuff stops here. Its a pretty basic plot.
