(I'm winning a platinum cup in 2 of 3 Dojo's, but sometimes even with perfect timing you can not win the coop-players)
It's giving an unfair advantage.
Though for challenges i can see how it can be percieved as unfair.
But there is the extreme challenges, wich can only be played by one player ( though the Murphys dungeon thingies can be half assed cooped with a friend pushing the "Murphy button").
And further, the Dojos are basically the only things that are really unfair comparing single versus multiplayer.
So let the rage fuel you on the other types of maps!
I suck myself on most and any types of maps, i am a theorycrafter, not a twitchplayer. So i cunningly let my younger brother (i´m 43, he´s 39) do the heavy lifting and we do silver or gold, and recently a few diamonds on the challenges
The game is really good, i usually detest platformers, but this one brings out the devil in me (and my brother)

But yeah, I do think the challenges are something that should be done by single-players alone.
The challenges are fun and addictive, though. And I've even managed to gain the occassional Diamond - usually on Livid Dead speed-runs.
Mostly, I average at Gold across the board.
I've rushed through several times, and my ghost should show some very effecient work to my closest challengers... yet the best I manage is about 20 seconds.
How, then, is it possible to do it in 12 seconds unless you cheat and get a friend to help you in co-op mode? Ok, maybe not cheating per se, but definitely taking a very unfair advantage of us single-players who don't have a skilled sibling or local friend to help us...
I find the easiest challenges to win diamond for are the endurance ones and the speedrun ones; my best, luckily, is the speedrun maps.

An example is the room where you need to dashjump, walljump and walljump again to get all the lums.A faster way that saves you like 1/3 of a second is dashjump, walljump and when you under the last lum groundpound. Alot of players don't know the groundpound gets you a little higher before the drop.
Another example is the room with 4 lums just on the ground not moving. I have seen alot of players just dash or only dashjump to get them. But in that room you can do a dashjump into roll or a dashjump into kick and that is much faster.
I can get pretty consistent diamonds now in the dojo's and always play solo but i need some luck in the co-op.
