anyone else dissapointed with the plot?
personally i havn't gotten to play the game yet but i got all the info i needed from youtube. and honestly, it's extremely dissapointing how the plot could have been perfect but theres too many little problems scattered around.

rayman origins had a great plot but was confusing with the magician being evil(is he mister dark or the majician) but besides that it was solid and i felt ubisoft could step up the quality next time around if they just explained everything, sadly I'm dissapointed. I'm going to dissect the plot part by part with this analysis

making it 100 years in the future- theres so much wrong with this. number one nothings ever done with the fact that most of the people they know probobly grew old and died. why wait that long to wake them up? what was the point as it now makes the paintings portal seem out of place.

the paintings- i think in one of the early press releases it said that the paintings were supposed to have been discovered by rayman in the glade of dreams and lead to differnt worlds. now with the 100 years in the future aspect all they are is just portals, so whats the point? the original concept made perfect sense with them leading to other worlds, now it's just confusing, why do there need to be portals, why not an overworld map, why do they even exist in the universe?

barabara and others- considering how big her reveal was supposed to be it's dissapointing to see her and others barely get an introduction in the game. you just play a level and than unlock them, it says your rescuing them but you never see them in the level. and also the magician at the end of a world was shown kidnapping a princess/queen whatever, why not instead have barabara and the others being kidnapped instead and give them a proper introduction into the storyline?

the magician being multiplied- what was the point? what does it add other than that musical tune on that planet when they get poked? it comes out of noware and serves no purpose, it's not like he needed to be in all those places at once.

the lack of a plan from the magician- origins pulled this off great, he was going around and getting rayman and friends to get him lums to power his machines which he would eventually use to take over. he's got no end game goal here, he's just going around stealing princesses and royalty like he's bowser, it's kind of underwhelming.

with all the extra time they had, it's dissapointing that they never fixed these problems in all that time. your thoughts?

I think, it's simply platformer/sidescroller-game for a wide audience, and the plot in it doesn't make much sense. It's all about the gameplay and art-style. The game is real fun to play, and I don't care for the plot. Rayman Origins is a very good game too.

i know that it's the gameplay thats important, but having issues in the plot destracts from whats good in the game. especially when most of this is extremely simple stuff i can't bellieve they could get wrong.

I'm not suggesting turning rayman into a huge story like kingdom hearts, i just want a solid simple plot that makes sense.

There's a plot? :D
No, seriously, I was also a bit disappointed because there is not much of a plot. At least Rayman Origins had a proper introduction, transitions between the worlds, proper boss introductions and a real finale.
Still, the game itself is quite fun to play, I just wish that it wouldn't require UPlay. also, the Ubisoft servers still suck when many people are playing the challanges at the same time.
