Which version of Chaos Engine is this ?
I remember the first version from 1993: http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=252

But since it looks more colorful, it seems that it is the CD32 (http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=571) or AGA (http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=1848) version, both from 1994.

Is there a way to switch versions ?

This version is built around the AGA version of the game.

Thanks for the answer.

Hopefully I can switch to the ECS version from 1993. It's not gamebreaking in any way and I don't want to sound picky, but the palette just looks unbalanced and way too colorful edited in some details. Same thoughts today like back in the Amiga days.

Still, I can't want to play, of course :) Just wanted to mention this because I know that many (maybe most) people played the ECS version back then and are also used to its balanced visuals.

i also would love an option for the classic ECS-Version, as would many other people, i am sure. The graphics of the original were darker and more atmospheric. Perhaps one day through Steam Workshop? This would be greatly appreciated.

Next: please remake Speedball 2 ECS-Version with Online Co-op also. Until today one of the greatest games ever made.

Long live the Bitmap Brothers.

Oh man, Grouch. A Speedball 2 update/revival in this style would be great. Though there's at least a dozen Amiga games I'd also love to see properly revived. Atoms, Uridium 2, Wonderdog, I could go on and on.

Yea, I kind of thought that back in the day. They went a bit overboard with the 256 colours because it was a relatively new thing; kind of how they hyper-coated everything with bloom when that was new a few years back.

I'm sure if we have a saturation option in the graphics settings, much of that garishness can be alleviated.

xenon 2 and I'll sell my kids to fund it lol
ECS look, now that's really something! So, if we would downgrade the color palette from 256 colors to 32 colors using the original Amiga 500 color mapping, would that be what you were looking for? Mind that the current 256 color palette is taken exactly from the Amiga 1200 version, we didn't change a thing ;). Though, I must admit, I had an Amiga 500 then and left the Amiga scene before the 1200 gained traction, just saying I know where you're coming from ;)

+1 for Speedball 2! Do not forget the "ICECREAM! ICECREAM!" guy playing during an injury gamebreak. ;)

Yes, you took the AGA version, but many people, like me, thinks ECS color version always had better look in this game. Seriously.

It'd be great if you could do this. You only need to swap the sprites. The gameplay is identical.

i prefer ECS GFX too
I will be interesting to have official option in remake version to switch between AGA or ECS GFX...

but all datas are saved in picture file at format PNG

so it's must be easy to do 'non officail' patch for ECS version

indeed all GFX are already ripped i thinks by example here:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=22404

so just a conversion is needed (because new GFX screens are not same structure than amiga rip
but it's not an hard job with good tools...

badly i am not enougth time to do it...
