Not for MAC!
I really want to play this game with friends it looks interesting and great but i have a mac, can someone tell me why they do not allow u to play it on an imac. I would use bootcamp but the task to install it all is to daunting im afraid im going to ruin it or something.

it's no big deal really.. just follow the instructions and that's it. you won't ruin something as long as you don't turn it off while installing or something.. have been playin on imacs for ages ;)

These, and pretty much ever other game out there, were never designed for Macs. The fact that Steam is porting some games to work for Macs is a huge thing for Mac users. Unfortunately it will take time, and maybe the developers of this game aren't interested in spending a ton of time to make it Mac-compatible.
If you bought a Mac to play games, you made a bad choice. In the meantime you can just use bootcamp to have a Windows partition and play your games. I'm sure there are thousands of tutorials out there that will help you set up your bootcamp properly.

No matter what though, always BACKUP YOUR IMPORTANT FILES before attempting any major changes to your computer, no matter if its a Mac, Windows or Linux!

Cheers.

It's not that they do not allow you, it's simply because the game has not been programmed for MAC.

It isn't that they don't want people on the mac to play it, it's that porting any game from one system to another, whether that be PC to Mac, PS3 to PC, PS3 to Xbox, or any combination of the four is difficult. The engine Payday uses compounds this problem by not being easy to mess with. I wouldn't count on a Mac port any time soon.
