PAYDAY: The Heist

The game runs slow.
Hi there, I do have a PC for the Payday 1 to play it on highest possible settings, although I still do have lags. The game literally drops from 60fps to 15fps, no idea why. Is there any fix for this? (Or why it is happening.)
Thank you for answer.

You can set the settings lower. Some parts of a heist require more performance than others (ie. sections with lights and stuff) and this might be causing your inconsistent framerates.

I did, actually. I have set all settings to lowest (even resolution) and frames still have been droping, and sometimes it doesn't lag, it just goes "slow" it takes me back and front etc.

And what do you expect from a Game made in a 19 yo engine?

Anyways ,you can make graphics even more ugly with the renderer_settings.xml file

Hey, hey, hey. Slow down there, buddy. This ain't Payday 2 we're talking about, with its unoptimized maps and buggy ai. This is Payday the Heist. There's probably a reason for this inconsistent fps.

What are your specs? And also, while playing PDTH, are you running anything in the background?

I don't really run anything on the backround. The specs are: 4GB ram
Intel Core Inside i3
Nvidia Geforce GT 635M 2GB

I think the game is using intel graphics instead of your GT 635M, set it to use Nvidia graphics from control panel.

Better resolution is 800 to have a decent fps (still it may drop to 30s in some maps like NM when there is heavy smoke & a lot of units.) but generally you can have about 110-50 fps.

Played with the almost same config but GT420M, 800 Res & Texture Quality High. When tested with Intel graphics it was really bad.

Hi, I did everything exactly as this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTbbG7QBDig
(I have all drivers and I have it as him. I even set the program settings to Payday 1.) and I still have lags. Well it is better now though, only a little bit I play the game on 800 res and texture quality high

Once you start a heist on single player mode, launch task manager & if there is no abnormal hard disk activity from any services most probably a driver issue, I believe you already verified game files?
With the last Nvidia update for 420M I couldn't even launched the game, so used something like 385, can't remember exactly. Maybe worth checking few previous drivers for your card to see if things get better..

While I'm not sure these will improve things to you,

if use discord while gaming try removing hardware acceleration - have seen this effect PDTH.

If you are on Win 10 - go to "compatibility" on game exe properties & "disable full screen optimizations" - not sure about PDTH but known to effect some games.

Hi there, I tried settings about the compatibility and it didn't work, I tried verifying the files too. And I have the next issue too, the audio "lags" something like "cuts", if you understood me. Guess the engine can't "work" with my PC, I have been thinking about locking the game to 30fps so it wouldn't go up and down. Is there any option for that?

If you want my advice try to refund the game or trade it. If your PC runs the game on terrible graphics then playing at 30 FPS will give you terrible movement and terrible aiming as well. in other words, your game will be unplayable because you are missing the most important thing in shooter games.
