PAYDAY: The Heist
WTFBM
So If I can ask this community, I heard that there's a hud mod for this game that gives the user "unfair advantages" over non/Dorhud users. What this thing really does actually? Drill timers or something? I just want to know but not going to install it.

-Assault timer. It's not perfect when you aren't the host, and even when you are the host, map scripting can occasionally screw it up (see: No Mercy), but for the most part, it's accurate.
-Enemy counter. While you can't see the reinforce and regroup phases kick in as a client, you can see when the enemies start and stop spawning, which is almost as good.
-Drill timers. Tells you when they're jammed as well.
-Reload timer. Now you'll never put away your GL40 half a second too early.
-Game timer. See how long the game's been running.
-Down counter, replacing your heister's name on the health bar. Good for deciding when to use a medbag charge, and if you're using this HUD, you know who the heisters are, so no loss there.
-Raw HP and armor display. Good for knowing if you can sponge another hit.
Statistics. The game already keeps track of everything, but WTFBM shows it to you. Your total kills and special kills are shown below the XP bar, as well as your accuracy both overall and with your current weapon.
-When aiming at enemies and friends, you can see how much health they have. Whether it's through your crosshair changing colors or through a health bar popping up below it, you can see their health. It's nice.
-Also, you can change it so that your gun stays by your side when aiming. There isn't any benefit to this; it's pure preference.
-You can change the color of your health and armor display, as well as add an armor bar to it for an easier-to-read representation of your armor.
-The center of your crosshair now has a dot on it. It's available during bleedout as well, making it easier to actually hit things when getting revived. You can also hide the lines on the crosshair, in case the dot's enough. Or just hide both.
-Your teammates now have their level displayed next to their name on the HUD.
-You now hear a heartbeat sound when your armor is broken, because it's easy to miss that and take unneeded health damage.
-You can turn off the hints, because you don't need to be told anymore that YOU'RE HURT GET TO COVER PRESS R TO RELOAD CONTROL THE CIVILIANS and so on.
-You can shut Bain up! Do I need to explain why you want this? You want this.
-And you can skip heist intros, without any of the odd sound issues that other intro-skipping methods use!

It's literally all written on the mod's page.

While most of these features are not really gameplay changing (in a cheaty way), some of them are giving you blatant advantages, like Health Spy mode - showing how much HP the unit has, or Advanced Assault Timer (some will say that its a cheat and others will not), and the Enemy Counter as an addition to the previous function. All things together make the "only HUD mod" a pretty unfair add-on.

Thanks a lot Marcus for sharing with us your experience but, correct me if I’m wrong please. The mod gives you the ability to disable features which means you can keep what you like and disable what you think it’s a cheat.

My opinion about what you consider it blatant advantages is the following:
1. Health Spy mode - showing how much HP the unit has.
I don’t know where is the advantage in that because I have to keep shooting the enemies to kill them either I know their health or not.
2. Drill timer.
The game without the mod will highlight the drill when it’s jammed and will make characters tell you to fix the drill and you will definitely see the time when you fix the drill so, where is the advantage?
3. Assault timer: Bain gives you warning before starting the assault in vanilla game and characters will tell you:
The cops are retreating at the end of the assault so, that should tell you when to move in vanilla game without this mod.

It's a cheat because you can see that hp through smoke so you can guess where exactly your enemy is and you even know which unit. Also knowing hp you know if any unit is already damaged or not when you want to take him as hostage. And sometimes knowing you enemy has really low hp you can just finish him melee instead of hiding from him.

It's not very cheaty in my opinion but still using that info you can go to the drill exactly when it finished drilling. You can do the same without mod but then you have to take into account drill timer and time when it's jammed.

Also not very cheaty in my opinion but you can know when exactly assault is gonna end with accurate to a second. So you can decide not to kill an enemy in order to take him as hostage.

This mod had few more cheaty functions you didn't mention btw.
