GL40 help

I'm having trouble using this effectively as I don't seem to be getting many kills with it even when I'm shooting at a crowd of enemies. I use grenade launchers very often in PD2 and would like to know some difference. Is direct hit a better option? Is the radius smaller or larger? Are there ammo pickups? Is it useless if not fully upgraded?

Grenade launchers aren't as effective as they are in PD2, but I don't see how to compare them as there are so many in the second game. Moreover, when it's not fully upgraded, then you're missing out on 40% additional damage and 20% additional range it can deal. This won't seem much, but since the damage falloff is so high it means it's nowhere near as useful by default. The result is that it's only able to kill cops effectively on the low difficulties until it's fully upgraded, although you can target individual ones. But it still makes for a good "distraction".

The ammo pickup for the GL40 is defined as a random value between -4 and 1. Since you cannot get a negative amount, you only have a 20% chance of actually getting ammo for this weapon when picking up packets of ammo.

Is it not possible to remove bulldozer's visor with a GL40? I shot one many times in a crowd with a bulldozer but his visor never broke.

Yes. But only with a direct hit or something really close.
