What genre is the ost?
It has a very unique feel to it that I've never noticed in any other songs I listened to in my life. Is that just Simon's taste at the time?

oh that's difficult to say some tracks (like panic room or heat street) has a bit of drum and bass.

EDIT: Wiki says its "Electronic (techno, big beat, electro-funk, dubstep)"

It's a real mixed bag. Most songs are made by Simon Viklund though.

Basically yeah, but there are also tracks in the game that aren't that genre. it really is a mixed bunch :p
