Chronicles of Vaeltaja Demo Released! (And now removed)
Chronicles of Vaeltaja's demo version has been removed, since it was based on a very old build, that was missing mechanics and performance was much worse. For a while I've felt that the demo version doesn't give the right impression of the game and in worst case might even be harmful for the sales.

I'm very happy that the demo version was downloaded over 16 000 times, which was much, much more than I thought it would be. It really gave me more confidence and motivation to keep going on.

Released a small balancing update.

1. Now there shouldn't be any other enemies than bats in the first enemy encounter.
2. Party has 750 coins at start.
3. Aesis has now better starting gear.
4. Healing spell should be now little bit stronger.
5. Nikarus (wolves) has now slightly lower strenght.

Released a small balancing update.

1. Tweaked damage for attack skills and spells, so party's ability to deal damage is little bit better now.
2. Edited armor and weapon descriptions.

I've been testing camera zoom when talking to NPCs: When clicking NPC the camera goes a little bit higher and zooms closer to NPC, so conversations have much more natural feel. I'll be doing some more tests and if there's no problems, I'll update it to the demo.

I've also been planning some changes to the skill system, to make it easier to understand, but those changes won't probably come to the demo.

I've just released a balancing update.

Changes:

Fallen party members are revived when resting at the farmer's house.
First bat encounter now only has 2-4 bats.
Changed loot in treasure chests to be more useful in the beginning.
After a certain point in both questlines merchant will have new equipment in his inventory (check before entering the Old Tower).
Warrior's, Hunter's, Mage's and Healer's rings will slightly raise certain stats.
Balanced enemy troops in the Old Tower.

Quality of Life -update released!

New Option settings:

- Full screen
- Font can be changed
- UI colours can be changed
- FPS toggle
- Added lantern to the starting scene when talking to that oracle woman
- Proper 'game over' screen
- UI buttons match the style of UI
- Added a better description to some skills, such as Precision Thrust
- Removed the dim bar that appeared across the screen when entering Auto Battle

Known issues:

- Graphics settings appear in every Options tab

Balancing update released:

- Decreased stats of the enemies to make them a little bit weaker
- Increased the amount of EXP and coins gained from enemies
- Resting at the farmer's house will now restore hit and energy points to fallen party members also
- Added description to weapon skills

There's going to be two more updates for the demo, which will bring new enemy and NPC sprites with side and back profiles. Once the second update is released, I will announce a small competition, so three lucky ones will win a Steam key for the release version of the game!

A surprise update for the Chronicles of Vaeltaja's demo version to fix some issues that invalidated all the previous enemy balancing updates and to add new sprites for some enemies and NPCs! This is probably first of the two last updates, unless there's something that needs to be fixed before the final update.

After the final update there's going to be a small competition, so three lucky ones will win a Steam key for the release version of the game! Stay tuned for more information in the next couple of weeks!

Patch notes:

- Added new side and back sprites for the farmer, farmer's wife and traveling merchant, so they won't just stand and stare player all the time.
- Added new animated overworld sprites for bats and nikarus to make the gameworld more immersive.
- Changed a wrong value in bats' stats, which invalidated earlier balancing updates and made bats stronger than they supposed to be.
- Fixed a bug that prevented player to receive coins at the start, when female character is chosen.
- Raised the amount of coins received in the beginning to 1000.
- Adjusted the size of farmer's and merchant's sprites.
- Adjusted the camera zoom height when talking to male NPCs.

Sorry for the inconvenience, this should finally make things easier in the beginning!

Small surprise update for the demo before the final update!

Patch notes:

- Updated bandit sprites to have animation when they walk in the forest
- Improved bandit battle animation slightly
- All the NPCs have now side and back sprites
- Changed bandit mobs, so Outlaws doesn't appear into battles too early

Final patch notes!

Patch notes:

- Added new sprites for outlaws, skeletons, wraith and green slime, including side and back sprites when they roam around the Great Forest and the Old Tower
- Enemy sprites are now scaled to right size
- Party has now footstep sounds, which change depending on the ground
- Removed Stealing skill as it has no purpose in the demo version
- Enemy mobs in the forest will change when you advance in quests
- Changed proper Game Over screen
- Changed proper Menu background image
- Party formation menu now has the right background image
- Adjusted UI window size when in Menus
- Adjusted the Battle Menu command text to the right position
- Slightly adjusted the hit points of bats, nikarus and skeletons
