Cockpit and HOTAS?
Any chance this game supports a cockpit view and HOTAS compatibility? Just thought I would ask. Thanks!

There's cockpit view already but only for F-16 so far.

Cockpit view is in the game, it's just that most aircraft don't have cockpits. Not yet. They'll be in eventually.

HOTAS should work just fine. Go into the controls and rebind the keys.

If I may add there's no support for animated cockpit instrument yet so far.

Well, yes and no. A single-unit HOTAS will work with the game. Seperate devices that plug in via different USBs do not work with the game.

If you're playing with your joysticks, whatever device you want VT to use has to have Joy ID #1

I can pretty much only play flight sim type games in the virtual cockpit... third-person and the "floating" first-person views are very disorienting for me. I've been playing Vector Thrust with only the F-16C and its virtual cockpit. I don't even care that it's very low-poly, it's got a functional glass HUD and its physical presence is what I really need to orient myself. I really hope the other aircraft eventually get cockpits.

Merville has something of a point, since it is pretty disorienting for a lot of people to play flight games the way VT is set up. Personally, I couldn't play Ace Combat in 3rd person for the life of me.

The thing is, I don't see the game getting more modeled cockpits for a while, unless we get the ultra-low poly cockpits that we can see from outside of the aircraft (i.e. a gray block behind some one sided glass polys) as the stopgaps/placeholders.
