And it's rather bold to state we have no story as an expectation when we have said we don't want to put story in EA yet.
If you have the EA you'll recognize our available aircraft and if you poke around the files, you'll have more proof.
That is if you do have the game, which you don't. We say what we say and promise what we do is to reassure people that certain game aspects and features will be in, not to say what won't. We intend to keep production promises at the expense of not rushing them out to appease the impatient.
I can understand your point.
If we count just one aircraft for each family, that will leave us with only a small number, but that means we will be ignoring the large variety of roles the other variants offer.
Also there are already two variants of the F-14 in the game, and in that list I’ve omitted aircrafts that don’t have enough variants to be considered a family
But despite the large number of aircraft that the game has, it is far from being the only selling point. In my opinion I feel that what it is really important is to have solid and fun gameplay, everything else should be build upon that. And that is what this initial release was interested in offering.
I can also understand if you are disappointed for the lack of story in campaigns, but that is why the game is still in development

In the next update, the challenge of the J 35 Mod 4 will be updated to add the final part of that story.

are you going to use the steam workshop so user can implement these mods easily ?
Steam Workshop will definitely be coming, TS already confirmed it. Players can, indeed, make their own campaigns to share with others. I'm setting one up that a lot of people will love to play. :D
Try the campaigns, there's a lot of fun missions.
As for the planes, there is a lot of them, but the problem is that you cannot use them everywhere, the campaigns for example have pre-defined ones and for the other modes you have to unlock them in challenge first, which proves to be a real challenge haha
For a Alpha/Early Access game i found it with lots of content and fun if you have patience to look everywhere.
Just kidding haha, i found it when i was editing the .ini to use my custom skin.
I particularly prefer not to have a plane because i suck at some challenge, than to edit files to unlock them. I kinda like the idea of "earn it to use it".
