I bought both the first minute it was released.
I was still wondering of others opinions.
I like the first one and it definitely is chockful of content(career mode, director's cut, ultra hard content, training grounds, custom levels) but there is only one tileset in career mode and one tileset in training grounds, that's it. Career mode did get a bit stale for me because of that.
I honestly haven't played the game on PC because my laptop is getting repairs. However, I have played Joe Danger on the PS3 and it was very fun. I personally love going for all the objectives on each course. Play what you like, they are both great games in their own way.
I would say the first one is more Trials-esque, second one seems to be more focused on providing spectacle (hollywood movie style). If the Trials-esque gameplay is your thing, you'll defintely be able to engorge yourself in the first one. I completed career mode and training grounds and it was enough for me. I barely touched Director's Cut and the ultra hard stuff, not to mention the custom levels.
