Recursive Armour on Celestial Witch
I have completed Recursive Armour in the hopes of helping both my familiars and my poor witch get a bit more sustainability but once it was completed...nothing. Nothing on either my witch or my familiars. My witch is still at 4/4 0 armour, and the familiars are still at 1 if trained at the barrens town. Am I missing something? The text on the card reads "Armour cap increased to double Witch or familiar's max health."

Cap means maximum, it doesn't change the current level of armor anyone has it just makes it so you can have twice as much armor as you do health.

Thank you for the clarification! I got my sanctum and blacksmith now, so the the card is better then expected, since I am able to get a lot of armour for both myself and my familiars.

If you use Barrens Village for familiar-related buildings, your familiars will get 1 shield when they complete their training in any building. If you then take your Warriors into the Soul Trainer slotted into Barrens, they will become a basic familiar again with 2 shield. You can also take injuried, shield-less warriors, turn them back into familiars - they will retain their Attack bonus - and upon retraining to Warriors they will be back to full health. Rinse and repeat for free* shields and free* healing.

*technically some mana but that's almost free

I have the recursive armor, and I tried your trick with the barrens, but my familiar seems to max out at 4 armor instead of 8.. this is my first game so I might be doing something wrong, do I have to equip the armor somehow?

Did you actually complete it after buying? It's a two-stage spell, you need to cast it twice before it's active. (Just to clarify: I never tried to max out recursive armor with barrens village, so don't know if it works even when it's done).

I thought I fully completed it yeah, I will check again in the morning. is there another way to gain armor? I have a familiar that gains attack based on armor and if I untrain them I wont be able to train them back.

There is a way but it's past third waypoint, so pretty late game, I'd say. I had said familiar in my celestial game and never really used them, they were there as more of a gimmick X)
It also involves some uncommonly used resources, so if you're not a hoarder you may be somewhat dissapointed. But I don't know how non-hoarders would play that kind of game and enjoy it xD

I found the easiest way to gain armor for your familiars is the Temple of Rites using the Rite of Iron . It's relatively cheap option (event more so once you learn the spell shackles and apply it's bonus ability ) that applies it's effect to all familiars on the board each cast and can be setup sometime after the first waypoint.

Using the Recursive Armor, you can quickly get some nice powerhouse Bramblepelts. I found their best use is to take down the 0/15 enemies quickly (I believe called Slime Mounds? can't recall off the top of my head atm) because they take no damage per attack, and can also be used in a pinch to quickly remove hard hitters if you don't mind re-building their armor.

Kind of slow option in my opinion... I prefer using it for additional income via Rite of the Hunt.
Anyway, armor is a problem only for Celestial witch anyway, and in my opinion she doesn't need it with her rates of production, including silversage. Enough of that could carry you much easier (than any armor option she has) through any kind of active play you want to put her through. Using armor on Celestial is mostly just a self-imposed challenge which can make one enjoy the game for longer, but I wouldn't recommend those for people who haven't clear the game yet ;)
