itch.io version

I played the non-Steam version for a bit of time and got pretty good progress in it. Now I have a question: can I download game from Steam and just change the "Data" folder? Will my progress remain?

Yes. I played the itch.io version until I got 100% achievements.
I didn't have to do anything other than downloading the game on Steam's library and I unlocked every achievement right away.
