Big advice for Tower of Suffering
Since this is a pretty controversial addition to the game as seen in other threads, i just want to give one big advice to make a lot less stressful for everybody that is currently climbing.

You want to go into the menu and hover your mouse over Save and Quit. If you are in a tight spot and know that you're going to fall down a long way and waste a lot of time, if you miss the jump, press escape and then space twice very quickly. The game only saves your position if you are touching the ground, so as long as you manage to quit the tower before landing, when you enter again, you will be at the position you are before falling. DON'T FORGET TO HOVER YOUR MOUSE OVER THE OPTION AGAIN BECAUSE IT RESETS YOUR CURSOR POSITION.

Obviously this is a little bit of a cheese strat and only works with long falls, but it makes the whole thing less stressful and hopefully easier for people who are struggling with it and just want to get it done ! Good luck gamers, you got this  !

Alright, a bit of an edit since as of now i have reached 61% and taking a break here to hopefully finish it tomorrow, a bit more advice : I put my third checkpoint here, my first was at 21% before a very trick jump that sends you back down a lot right before the ending of the first part, and the second one at 38% in the area with a bunch of small platforms everywhere. I would actually recommend to put it near 41% instead though, as there is a pretty tricky jump to get up a stairs platform that sends you wayyyy back to the start of the area if you overjump it.

Another thing is, there are a couple jumps i straight up could not figure out how to do, especially in the third area, and don't be ashamed to look up a playthrough. Annie Mood has a pretty good video on their channel that shows them getting all the coins and doing all the jumps, and it's what saved me from spending tens of minutes trial and erroring my way through a difficult jump.

Update : Tower cleared ! I only used those 3 checkpoints since i ignored some coins that would require me to fall down on purpose, and had one coin missing for the 4th checkpoint. If you bite the bullet and go for these coins to get a 4th checkpoint, i would recommend you put it either at 90% or somewhere between that and the end, as it comes at a very stressful point and there is a lot of precise jumps to be found here. There actually is a lot of max jump bounces you can do here, and while some jumps are very precise, some are actually very easy with wall bounces.

Oh, cool. I'll probably actually bother to play it now that I know that. Thanks.

You're welcome ! It's definitely thanks to this that i've reached so far without spending hours on it and it's made the climb a lot more tolerable. Good luck !

you only get 4 checkpoints, use them wisely.

69% is unironically a good spot for a checkpoint.

For the rest of the tower past that point, there's a decent number of jumps solved by bouncing off the wall. Never forget the wall bounce.

I would get as far as you can in tower then reset afterwards you can max get 4 checkpoints by gathering coins.
By doing this you will have better knowledge on the game and be able to progress faster without using checkpoints at early spots.
On my winning run i used 3 checkpoints
1 at 65%
1 at 80 something percent
and 1 at 90%
i would use checkpoints on wide areas that have no ledges nearby

useful info for sure, but funny enough my biggest struggle rn is the wooden tube around 60 - 72% up. the punishment for failing jumps in there is almost non-existent but the precision needed for those 5-10 jumps straight makes me want to puke tbh
Subscribed for great justice, I mean advice.

They aren't whining or saying that they hate it, they're giving actual advice on how to play the new mode and make it tolerable for those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about being "hard", that's why

I think most of the opposition comes from people disagreeing about the achievement in particular. It's the reason why this mode is divisive, some people suffered through it, got the achievement and think people should just stop complaining and do it, and some people think that the gamemode is just so unenjoyable that they'll give up on the 100% because of it. I personally empathize with the latter, as the tower is clearly not meant to be fun or fair (for a blind playthrough i mean, it is basically just a puzzle/memorization game with a bit of mechanical skill. Lots of trial and error as there's no real way of knowing how to do jumps without trying and failing. Jump King, the actual game this is a reference to, has more demanding mechanics in the main game and the DLCs like wind, ice, or quicksand platforms, and is longer as well, but i personally prefer it for those mechanics), unlike the entire rest of the game. It's in the name after all.

Hopefully this thread at least helps some of those people who had initially given up go back to the tower and be able to clear it. I clearly sucked at this, but it "only" took me 3 hours to beat, and unlike Jump King there isn't any speedrun or flawless challenges to beat thankfully (The 100% for that game is absolutely insane, big respects for whoever has it). I do think the tower should be made a tiny bit easier, 1 or 2 more checkpoints would be perfect and would help relieve some of the frustration !

Thanks for advice, I'll give it a try next time.

Take any advantage you can get. My advice, as someone who finished the tower and was absolutely terrible at it, is it doesn't have to be done in one "run". I used checkpoints to practice tricky areas until I was comfortable enough to get through them fairly easily, once I got to another trouble spot, if I had enough coins for a checkpoint, I'd drop one, if not, I'd reset the tower and hop back up there and only drop a checkpoint or so along the way in important spots, saving enough coins for the new area I wanted to practice. It was maybe a bit more time consuming but I found it way less frustrating that way.

Agreed, this is also good advice ! I did one short run before this, and i ended up putting the first checkpoint at 10% which proved to be a horrible idea since it's really difficult to fall down that platform. After resetting and putting it near 20% it felt much better

What is your obsession with calling everyone who has no issue with this an "elitist"? Nobody here has ever acted like they're better than anyone for completing this, and most people I've seen have given advice on how to handle this. Just because you're salty that this actually requires effort beyond the normal game, it doesn't mean that everyone in favor of this is an elitist. Go away.
