fan letters

As far as I've seen fan letters are drops specific to enemy types, so we have to do other stages to get certain fan letters.
And I've seen mention that bosses have fan letter drops too.
Do we have to do all hard stages and on endless as well for the whole collection?

All stages have at least 1 or more unique fan letters to drop, however none of them need to be obtained through endless mode. You can get all of them doing stages.

Final bosses (20-minute mark bosses) that drop fan letters automatically collect before stage clear.

thx, the auto-collect of fan letters from bosses was important info.

Well, about that... I also thought that this was the case but in fact not at all: you have to play in unlimited to have a chance to collect the final boss letter or then be really very close to him to succeed in getting it before the end of the level. Unless I am told that an update has been put in place to fix this but I have not seen any new since the last time I played the game.

No, I've gotten the final boss letters without playing on endless or being close enough to magnetize them. IIRC I got the Area 15 one in particular while nowhere near the boss that died and other bosses still alive. Doesn't really make sense, but I'm not going to complain.

fan letters can't be magnetized.
But i've also gotten the boss letters without endless mode, so I guess those are auto-pickups by other means.
