I don't see a reason why not? Instead of their ult it's actually a completely seperate button to distinguish themselves from Haachama but other than that they are even better suited for a switch mechanic.
I don't think the swapping mechanic or the dual mechanic of treating one like a Pet mechanic really respects their actual individuality as people/characters. Like I imagine they get enough of that in real life at least give them the ability to play solely as themselves and not a unit for a game like this.
That said if Kay Yu ever goes the route of allowing (couch) co-op 2 player style gameplay then I would love to see 2 person units get synergy bonuses/moves when played together. Kay could do this with FWMC being the first to experiment with it.
It's definitely going to be interesting what Kay does with them! I myself would like them to be separate too, I agree completely with you that they should be their individuality respected
I argee with this. Having them as separate characters - but maybe shortly summoning the respective other twin for the Special Attack - could be interesting and more unique than just "swap character" or the summon skill mechanic (AO, Ankimo, Bibi etc.) From what I know, Kay did want to go with something that is specifically not just "swap character" for them. I could however see them sharing stats, i.e. if you get one twin from gacha you also get the other, sharing Fandom etc. Not sure how feasible that would be to code, though.
True! But their ruffians do look different from one another, that would take care of the fandom thing!
Kay Yu also suggested that you only play as Mococo and Fuwawa is just a ghost floating around telling you what to do. But that was a joke.
Both on screen at once, but each has a different function.
One is melee focused; (in HM2 Alex is equipped with a chainsaw, but can't use ranged weapons) and the other is ranged focused; (Ash starts with a SMG and can pick up various firearms, but can't melee attack)
They stick close together so the movement controls them both, and left click makes Alex swing the chainsaw, while right click makes Ash shoot at where-ever the reticle is.
To make it fair, since Ash lags a small distance behind Alex, only Alex herself takes damage.
And yeah, it's Deku Scurb who gave me the idea with his character from HM2.
even on the extreme end of each being completely on their own with no reference to the other in their skills, them being twins could be referenced with a (super) collab or somesuch
