Hololive is dead
1 termination and 5 graduations in ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ year ?! Yep, that's it. The dream is over. Hololive is dead. I give up. They lost my support and I don't want to be involved with them anymore. ♥♥♥♥ COVER and Hololive. Everything doesn't matter anymore.

I do not want to be THAT guy, but I heard that Mumei and Gura probably will be next graduated talents. Especially Gura, for some reasons...
related video, very fitting with a lot of her project getting rejected/canceled https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyMKVDzlvh8&t=0s

Doomers are really showing how easily they fold when they're so quick to throw the rest of the members under the bus when these rumors are stressing them out. They'd never have survived the Taiwan incident.

We remember the scandal in niji, we remember how the legends went away ... On the Russian Internet, they talk about some kind of Korean influence on Yagоo and inhuman processing of Hololive talents. Let's hope that the Japanese "extremely hardworking people" will not turn hololive into a factory of squeezed lemons

As soon as any company goes public you can expect shareholders to diarrhea all over it for profits. They will force the company to ONLY do whatever is perceived to generate the most money and eventually it ends up bleeding money cuz these shareholders have no idea what made it successful in the first place. Then the company will become more desperate to increase profits and it gets worse and worse.

It's the exact same thing as a cancer, a destructive force that only knows how to destroy and only grows stronger and more destructive to whatever it has infected.

Don't expect things to improve. From my understanding, Hololive got funded by venture capitalists who forced Yagoo to go public or sell the company. Venture Capitalists are another form of cancer, they help businesses get started and that's great, but they can turn that same business into garbage just as easily as they helped it get started.

Money creates and money destroys. In my opinion this is just going to create a bigger market for indie vtubers not affiliated with big companies (I mean they exist but people are going to lose faith and trust in these corporations)

^Truth (Except there are also malicious shareholders who will also take companies on destructive paths obviously detrimental to profit.. 'Corps/shareholders always seek profit' is a demonstrable myth at this point.)
We might be seeing the beginnings of the Phase supremacy arc. I haven't totally lost hope in Holo for the time being (going public sealed their ultimate fate), but it sucks how buried in limitations they are, now. I'm actually kind of cautiously looking forward to a potential Gura graduation at this point if it means indie fun with LemonLeaf and others. A year or so back I'd have been devastated, but with these long breaks, she could come back roaring in a different, but similar form (assuming the best about her health conditions.. I'm pretty ignorant there. I'd also respect if she just wanted out of the biz by that point. I'll always have the memories and saved clips.) Ultimately, there's a lot we don't actually and probably never will know, and can't pretend to, but something's kind of felt off for a couple years or so.

It wouldn't all be cheering, as I very much appreciate what Cover/Hololive has brought us up until now, but gaming industry/publicly-traded corp antics have prepared me for an eternal nomadic churn through the life and death cycle of content. I've been prepared for the eventual fall since before the IPO.

In any case, think I'll go do a Fauna run. Game's still great and oshis live on.

Edit:
Nah, they're cooked. Just saw some stuff I was unaware of. Sad, but expected. Looking forward to Senzawa & Co. antics.

for me now to class hololive as dead is if I hear either Gura or Mumei leaving, then there's nothing much left of either Myth or Council, as much as advent and justice are cool they are not the same as myth and council, for me EN is on life support, I know Bae addressed it but I'm gonna say it to me it sounded like when Elira addressed the Selen thing, Fauna and Ame leaving was the smartest choice and no doubt as lemonleaf she will do better maybe even collab with dooby and doki and mint, I am so down for that, I will still like this game no hate on that but Hololive is not the same fun company anymore, it's slowly turning into the new nijisanji

Mumei is gonna end up leaving eventually.
Like Haachama did, she’s focusing on her education at Uni and working toward her law degree, which she’s probably gonna wanna pursue a career with it and not stream forever.
Gura’s still a mystery, and the lack of details is definitely getting people worried, especially with the whole Niji debacle that happened in back in Jan, alongside all these back to back graduations.

As for what Bae and Shiori and the other talents say, I kinda agree. I’m always taking statements with a grain of salt. They are employees and contracted to COVER, so they’re not gonna go too hard on them, especially with many of them in Japan on Work Visas. Sure things are fine for them for now, but same could be said of Fauna and Aqua a while ago.

But don’t go all OP and be 100% Doom and Gloom. Caution is the key, and it’s best to just enjoy and support the v-tubers you like while remaining skeptical of COVER. The coming months will determine if COVER can reCOVER(Inaff) or if they’re gonna go down the Nijisanji route. Just gotta be patient and observe.

sorry but I don't, Fauna and Ame are wise and still I'm keeping what I said, Calli super sellout like Vox Akuma and to me Bae is like Elira, as for Shiori she's doing her best but now I'm seeing why they are called cover

I heard they've opened office in California. Also their investors are Black Rock and Vanguard. This is about RIP combo already.

Aqua and Chloe (JP), Amelia and Fauna (EN), A-chan (management)

Though tbf, Fauna won't graduate until January, so that's NEXT year. Technically.
dimetrodonluke Dec 3, 2024 @ 6:03pm
Yeah, no. The fact that the graduations have pretty much nothing to do with eachother in terms of their reasons (ranging from Aqua simply wanting a change of pace, to Ame focusing on running her own business with her mocap and tech studio, to Chloe's health condition, to Fauna's fairly vague statement that could mean anything from wanting to go in a different direction to being fed up with restrictions to travel requirements), with half of them choosing to stay affiliated with the company, I really don't see it that way.

Plus all of the reassuring statements from other members including genmates, especially members like Kronii who have notoriously complained about management before.

The fact that they can complain about management without their VODs getting nuked, the fact that the gaming, variety streams, and zatsus arent going anywhere, the fact that they can take mental health hiatuses instead of working themselves ragged, the fact that the talents can leave whenever they want instead of waiting in a graduation cue, the fact that the company's official statements about their departures prioritize protecting the talent's privacy over making the company look good, the fact that worse "scandals" have happened in his community without anything like this happening (the copyright purge, Haachama being stuck in Australia, Aloe, Taiwan leading to the end of an ENTIRE BRANCH, Rushia's termination and subsequent scandal, Vesper & Dez, etc.) and most importantly the fact that the first ELEVEN MONTHS of this year were mainly full of positive events from collabs to concerts to huge events all points to this doomerism being unfounded and reactionary. The fact that it took barely 24 hours for people to flip from "everything is okay" to "its the end" is kind of saddening.
