Kiryu Coco is too weak
That is all, I play main weapon only runs, and Coco is just too weak. Even Awakened her katana has pitiful range and damage. Her kit isn't conducive and doesn't even synergize with each other, much less with other support items. The beloved legendary dragon shouldn't be this weak.

She's not that bad, but yeah her kit is on the weaker end. Two of her skills seem pretty worthless, only GMMF has any value... and that's only for its passive side effects (life steal from asacoco weapons is great, considering it affects collabs made with it too, and removing the life drain from injection actually makes it really good).

Her ult is on the better end too, but apart from that her kit has nothing much going for it.

And I'm over here throwing toilets for 5-10k damage. The machinegun special also does a ton of damage.

Build her around special cooldown and skill damage. You can easily get the dragon of hololive objects to hit for 5-10k damage.

Her object throwing can do 10k damage, but it's overkill against the weak mobs. Good for the bigger enemies sure, but she needs work on her mob control.
You use her awakened katana for the "marking" debuff thing and then you use Dragon Fire or something to do the real damage, and even lifesteal. Or you shorten your Special cooldown to more rely on her 50% and 75% special attacks, but that itself needs special items. She takes a while to be strong, probably too long though for higher difficulty runs.

Just me, but I like running Coco with eldritch and inhaler asacoco even though dragonfire/holyfire is probably better.

Edit: although that means you can run a different super collab like snow queen or idol concert.

I have no trouble with her on a "normal" run, it's when you do a no weapons (other than her katana) run that she feels extremely gimped. The throw does a ton of damage, but it's overkill against a few tiny mooks, and getting her to throw it where you want is difficult too.

same for me i found her a bit weak and her skills are not that great it really deceived me.

I'm not sure no-weapon runs are supposed to be balanced the same for all characters. It's a self-imposed limitation, not the default game mode. Some characters just have main weapons and skills that synergize better than others.

well. i do agree she's one of the hard character to play. but i also gotta say that some other characters are too strong that playing them kinda boring. at least for coco, i gotta turn my brain to actually make it work. and i find it fun

Character that has a skill that specifically benefits certain weapons, is kind of bad without those weapons. Shocker.
She throws items at your cursor if you are in free aim mode. If you aren't, then she throws them at the nearest enemy.

Except there's no real synergy with her kit. The only thing her kit really affects are Asacoco weapons, but that's also only on healing. Which isn't my issue. My problem is that her damage output is abysmal by herself.

I'm saying the character is built with the assumption that you would be using other weapons as well since it buffs them, thus solving your damage problem. Sorry the game isn't built around your self imposed challenge.
Anyway, you could still stack skill damage and use 50% or 75% dragon heat to screen clear if trash mobs are your problem. That should give you plenty of throwables, which you can use to destroy crowds after gathering them up.

If you problem is damage output your not building her right. Build her around skill damage and special cooldown.
Take beetle, gws pill, idol costume, and then whatever else you want for more damage or healing.
Shinneh Nov 21, 2024 @ 10:59am
I beat hard 1, 2 and 3 first try with Coco, you don't need idol costume (although it's great!) just go ham on using her special machinegun and dragon form. I will say right up until you get a collab (usually dragonfire) it feels like it could go either way, but once you get that it's game set and match.

You want hard, try playing Aki.

And if you're playing special 1 weapon run scenarios, then yeah, each character will be different, you'll need to use food and support items etc. to pull that off on some characters and stages, but not on others.

What weapons does her kit buff? I'm not seeing anything really, there's no real synergy. You keep saying she depends on other weapons but none of her skills buffs them.

I'm already doing that. Even then she's still mediocre compared to other idols.

Again, please read. I'm saying she's very weak when playing without other weapons. Game is easy with any character when you use all the weapons.
