super collabs, how to find them?
The number of possibilities between collabs and items is huge. Not to mention, it all depends on the rng of a run.

Is there some sort of hint somewhere I would have missed... or is this one of the sadistic sides of a "gatcha"/shooter game?

info about collab is on wiki.

well if it is about getting the right weapon for collab and stuff, it is indeed RNG.

Either look it up or stumble upon them. There's a load of collabs and the game tells you if you can combine ♥♥♥♥.

There's only four super collabs currently. As for finding them organically, yes it's pretty much luck. Combinations in the spoiler text below, if you want them.

Holy Fire: Dragon Fire(Fan Beam+Plug Type Asacoco)+Gorilla's Paw
Idol Live: Idol Concert(Idol Song+Glowstick)+Idol Costume
Jingisukan: Elite Cooking(Elite Lava Bucket+Spider Cooking)+Uber Sheep
Snow Queen: Snow Flower Sake(Wamy Water+Glowstick)+Sake

Allright, then the only reasonable options are to stumble upon them and use the wiki to know on which ones other people playing the game did stumble...

Yup. It's not the best system.

Buy upgrades into re rolls and eliminating options this allows you to fine tune what items and weapons you want to get in a run which gets rid of ALOT of the rng

To create a Super Collab, you must acquire a unique drop item known as a Golden Hammer, which allows for the creation of Super Collabs at a Golden Anvil. Certain conditions must be met for a Golden Hammer to appear, including:
1. The necessary Collab weapon must be present.
2. Player must either be at least Lv. 50 OR have at least 3 Collabs total.
from another guide

Thankfully they aren't required at all, never had one myself.

Well, there's still a certain internal logic to it :
- Snow Queen : Sake related items
- Jingusikan ; Cooking/food related item
- Idol Live : idol related items
- Holy Fire : Holo House related item

For the last one, I don't mean the Holo House feature added in update 0.6, I mean the OG Holo House, when Coco (Dragon Fire) and Kanata (Gorilla Paw) decided to become roommates. Admittedly, this last one requires some Hololive knowledge, especially since their gen is not implemented yet as playable charagcters, whereas the other three super-collabs are a bit more accessible to non Hololive fans.

guys... reducing the RNG does not help: the configuration space is beyond reasonable (gatcha?), and the "hints" are somewhat far fetch. My guess: the game was meant to be played as a community with a wiki.

Or it was never meant to be played by completionists. The name and description of the 100% completion achievement was a clue there. :steammocking:

Yeah, they're there to be found by accident, and then you share the information with others.
I got Snow Queen by accident.

But.... but... I was outside, I coded until I am bored (actually my laptop battery ran out of juice...) and I came back in-door! It is the other way around! :steamdeadpan:

Snow Flower Sake + regular Sake is one of the more logical ones alongside Idol Concert + Idol Costume. Like, if you know that Super Collabs are a thing that exists (not guaranteed; even the achievement that's technically for creating your first doesn't actually use the term "Super Collab" or otherwise explain how to get it), the recipe for Idol Live is probably the first one a reasonable person would try followed shortly by Snow Queen. Someone going for a gimmicky build could reasonably put Elite Cooking in a food-based build for flavor (pun not intended but noticed and left in) and end up accidentally discovering one. The last, Holy Fire, is definitely so inside-baseball that it's standing on the pitcher's mound but it's far from the only part of the game that relies on knowledge of the source material.
