But, I agree. This is how all survivors games are. So it should stay that way.
Maybe as endless-only feature? Limited amount of replace? Available at high level only? Certain abusable items can't be replaced? Weapon only (no replacing items)? Only after maxing everything?
By the way, it's not how all survivor games are. I mean they have to be unique in some way and sometimes it includes this. In Soulstone Survivors and Spellbook Demonslayers you can replace spell after you got full slots. Replaced spells are thrown away. In Spelldisk Survivors you have an inventory for inactive spells and disks; you can freely switch. The inventory will eventually become full if you keep piling stuff, but it's good that it exists and big enough. In Time Wasters, you can't replace a weapon but you have no weapon limit.
But replacing stuff in the middle of a run is a big fat NO, then it would not be a roguelite anymore and just a generic ubisoft game...
