I did this with Sana back in 1.5.
I also got the achievement for discarding a super item during this challenge. It was a Super Credit Card....
- Damage Reduction & HP Regen when not moving
- Pick Up Range have a chance for additional attack for melee weapon
Limiter is essential to pick up exp. Grab it as soon as possible, burn rerolls if you can. Knightly Milk helps pick up exp and the attack size buff is powerful since all the enemies are going to be bunched up, and the knockback buff can be life-saving if you have any knockback effects.
Plushie and Full Meal both dramatically improve Anya's durability, especially if you get them both. Breastplate is also a solid option, and it's speed debuff doesn't affect you since you aren't moving anyway.
Slumber comes with a drastic -70% attack debuff, which is somewhat counteracted by the massive slow (you essentially get a much longer time to attack). However, you still definitely need to invest in damage because no amount of defense will keep you alive if every enemy in the game is dog-piling you. It might be worth taking Face Mask, Membership, Candy Kingdom Sweets, and/or Injection Asacoco to counteract and possibly surpass the damage debuff. Definitely grab Kusogaki Shackles if you take one or more of those items.
Her main weapon cannot hit enemies directly in your space when it is upgraded to have 2 daggers, so you may need to put off upgrading that until you get a weapon that can like Spider Cooking. The third dagger upgrade doesn't have this problem though.
Blade Form makes you invincible for 10 seconds. If you have Slumber maxed, you can recover 75% of your max hp over the duration, so it's beneficial in a lot of cases to wait until you're below 25% hp to use it to maximize your survival (particularly against Fubuzilla and Smol Ame). I cannot understate how helpful Idol Outfit is for this, I had to use Blade Form twice to survive Smol Ame.
Wamy Water, Spider Cooking, Sausage, EN Curse, Cutting Board, Elite Lava Bucket, and BL Book are probably your best bet for weapons. Wamy and EN Curse can actually be aimed, so you can focus mini-boss and boss enemies better. BL Book will almost certainly hit every enemy that gets near you, but it won't hit anyone that gets too close to you unless they're really big. Wamy, Sausage, and Cutting Board all have knockback when upgraded which can dramatically delay enemies reaching you and lock them in range of other weapons like BL Book and Lava Bucket. Spider Cooking is just plain good, though I don't believe its slow stacks with Slumber so you just want it for damage. Lava Bucket is random, but the slow from Slumber will make sure enemies stay in the pools of lava for a long time, maximizing the damage.
The funny thing is my first attempts failed with Sana, then my single attempt with Fauna succeeded. Thing is, Fauna can heal while waiting until low health then heal all the way back with her invincibility special. I think I got lucky with Special Limiter on that run, turning her into a mini Sana but with extra healing.
