Delete your save files, here is where they can be found;
C:\Users\(your user name on computer)\AppData\Local\HoloCure
(My Steam installation is on my C drive but yours maybe different)
However we also have Steam Cloud saves so these need deleting otherwise the broken save the game tried to launch that was saved to the cloud when you launched the game will be downloaded and hit the same error.
Go to HoloCure in your Steam Library and go into properties and turn off saving to Steam Cloud.
Now we need to delete the locally stored Steam Cloud save which can be found at;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(your steam ID - random set of numbers)\(gameID 2420510)
(My Steam installation is on my C drive but yours maybe different)
(My Steam install is in Program Files (x86) older machines may just be Program Files)
Now both of these are deleted you can launch the game.
After you have launched the game you have created new save files and can turn Cloud Saves back on, when you do this Steam will tell you there is a save file conflict and ask which files you want to keep, select local files as these are the clean ones and the game should run fine.
If you have a lot of progress on an old file you may want to look for a better solution or save the files in another folder for when a fix comes out, but if you just want to play and don't mind a fresh save this should help.
