Did golden rod really worth it?

I fished 1000k sands for it in 4 days
it's still less shrimp less tuna and feel same status like Turkey Rod
feel no more shiny chance or it just a same percent RNG?
and after hot fix 8/20 I feel the rhythm game become harder ,you will failed when just 2 miss

It's not worth it in terms of income, no. The worker system is basically useless completionism. You're better off using traditional gold farming than fishing or hiring workers. Buuuuut you probably need to level fishing to SOME degree to be able to catch the higher tier fish for cooking. Golden Rod probably isn't needed for that though.

If you can get good combos with fishing then it's comparable to gold farming.
So unless you are bad with rythm clicking (fishing) it's both viable.

if you are good at the rhythm game and able to get 100+ combos, if you can sustain the combo in a 40 minute period it is apparently similar to an iris gold farm. (~1.6m coins in 35 mins)

Difference is tho you need to farm and waste money first to get the rods. So every 20 min you Fish without Golden Rod you waste a whole potential Gold Farming run.

Rule of thump would be this:
Early game Fish so you can get some characters and the first cheap upgrades. After that its all out Gold Farm. I did exactly that and already have all characters and some Upgrades.

Yes the initial grind to Golden Rod is annoying but it spreads out fish tiers as opposed to Turkey Rod weighted toward higher tier and Beginner Rod not giving much below chain 50. When the update came out I made a thread complaining about not getting Clownfish with Turkey Rod then found out it's easy to chain 160+ Beginner Rod to grab a ton of Clownfish.

I assume the main point of Golden Rod is higher chance of golden fish, though by the time I even caught 1 golden fish with Golden Rod (3 with Turkey Rod) I quit Holo Housing because I had Holo House related achievements done and don't need the income but need to grind Gachikois.
