T4 slaves not worth it?
I am currently facing an issue with providing sustenance for half of my slaves due to their preference for sharks. I've been fishing around 90 times and have only managed to catch 1 shark using the x4 multi. Should I consider specializing in T3 slaves, or has the development team indicated that they will address this? In my opinion, implementing a fish bait tailored for specific fish would be an excellent solution.

I have hundreds of sharks stocked up. You just haven't put enough time into fishing, your odds for sharks will go up when you get the gold rod. I fish up 5-8 sharks regularly and you can get even more with higher chain.

I'm having the opposite problem with my silver star workers, where I'm struggling to provide basic fish like shrimp, I keep getting weird stuff like pufferfish that no one wants to eat.

What's the highest manager level anyway? I'm at manager level 3 and I'm just barely making a profit, when you consider you gotta grow veggies to feed workers. I'm sure the numbers will go up as you get better workers and all but like... man. I think playing the main game would be faster in terms of grinding out gold.

I'm kinda just using the worker space because its there. I've been doing holo house stuff long enough to get the turkey rod (so like, 11.5 hours according to Steam but some of that would be in playing the main game of course) and it doesn't reeeeaaaaally feel like workers are profitable yet. I actually don't mind, I'm there for the distraction and downtime between doing runs in the main game. As long as it at least breaks even and isn't costing me money, i think its worth doing at least a little.

I feel like fishing probably has the potential to be profitable faster though, since it doesn't cost anything except time. If I wasn't constantly using fish to feed workers or convert into sand to buy the next tiers of rods I would probably be making a ton of cash off it? Honestly my only gripes with fishing is that I think basic fish should have higher multipliers (since they're not worth much but also requested as food often) and that sometimes there's an awkward like, 5-8 second silence while you're waiting for a fish to bite.

The highest manager level is 4.

A common mistake people make is judging the system without seeing the whole thing. If you're struggling for Shrimp, I'm guessing you're on one of the high tier rods but not the gold rod, right? Well you'll get far more shrimp with the gold rod than the turkey rod, gold rod has a much more even distribution.

Once you get the gold rod, you'll sometimes be seeing like 25 shrimp drop at once, and you'll be catching far far more yellow ! fish.

is the entire worker/fishing minigame even worth it to begin with? getting gold by just playing the main game is easy enough.

for food just make something that only requires farming, that doesn't take up much time.

Well you are meant to play video games for fun, not because they are worth it or not. For some people the ability to get millions of coins over time just by feeding your workers between runs really quick is going to feel like a cool power fantasy.

i myself doesn't visit house often, but in my opinion, holohouse existence and its minigame is definitely worth the time, especially towards those who aren't familiar with the game.

grinding coins by fighting the enemies is sure easier, but considering the new player who doesn't know left or right, they are probably struggling with:
1. which talent is best for gold farming (very common question)
2. which stage to is best to do it
3. which items to pick
4. how to proceed the game, etc.

looking from new player perspective, it is quite a struggle.

the plus side of holohouse beside the minigame is when you are afk in holohouse area, you could get fish due to random NPC activities. this passive system is quite interesting for them.
so yeah, holohouse is quite helpful, even if you don't really focus on it. just chilling there and profit.

remembering these, playing 0.4 back then is really a struggle :(

No offense but if I'm at the second highest rod and the second highest manager rank, I feel like I've seen enough to make a judgement on it. This really reminds me of those "Oh you can't give FFXIV a negative review until you play 1000+ hours and get to end game on each of the 5 expansions it has" type of arguments you sometimes see. I've got 13.2 hours in on Steam and I can just throw money at the garden to make it go faster since I played a TON on previous versions. I guess if I spend another 2 or 3 hours grinding it out I'll max out the rods and manager ranks too, but it doesn't feel it its going to change THAT much.

I've seen how much more fish you get at each rod upgrade and its really more to do with your chain bonus than anything else. The rod feels like it mostly changes the fish distribution table. It does technically increase base fish amounts and fish rarities, but I still find it easier to just swap to your free basic rod to limit your options to the base 3 fish. It doesn't matter how many sharks you catch if all your workers want is shrimp or tuna.

Manager levels do feel like they matter more though, the difference between bronze and silver rarity workers is fairly high. I expect gold will continue that trend and that's when they'll start asking for stuff like sharks instead of shrimp, and that's when the gold rod is worth it. That being said... I'm still getting 250k+ plus in the main game in about the same amount of time, so I'm not looking at grinding out holo house. If workers didn't need to eat fish then I'd be a lot more willing to invest in them, since veggies are easier to deal with than hoping you get large amounts of the right sort of fish randomly. It's also a little annoying having to rebuild your chain bonus every time you drop it, to be honest.

I just picked Kronii because I like her the most and I did stage 1 because it was the easiest. And I just hit that up for ages while picking the 4 things that make more coins, with the rest of my build being whatever I just happen to get from RNG. I ended up getting rerolls and eliminations close to last in the shop, so there were times I was given a set of options and I just had to choose the least worst of them all.

Holocure isn't actually that hard to play. If you want to optimise the hell of it then yeah sure there's specific strats, but if you just wanna go in with your favorite its really not that big of a deal I guess? It's not as if there are any useless characters or worthless items, yanno?

the workers part is fine. but you can't do it in between games since it requires hours of fishing, which is not fun.

had some hope when i bought some workers that required plant food, but after a few level ups they wanted fish. and no doubt once they level up a bit more they will want fish you can only get with higher tier fishing rods.

That's easy enough to work around, just switch back to the Beginner's fishing rod, you can switch at any time without losing your more powerful ones. This way you'll be limited to mostly shrimp with a little tuna and clownfish. As with real fishing, you pick the right rod for the job.

oh, sounds like somebody is finally enjoying the game hahaha. glad to hear that.
well, one word from me, this game's RNG is really punishing. compared to vampire survivors, the amount of unlucky run that i had in this game is personally higher for me. So, just don't let it bother you too much. if you really that the RNG is too bad you want to throw your PC, better to just stop playing and do something else, or maybe chilling in the holohouse. Maybe joining takodachis reading 'thing' behind the house ;)

Congrats on being partway through the grinding fishing minigame, but like I already told you the final upgrade completely removes the problem you describe. it turns out it actually is an upgrade and not a joke option. I am sorry you were expecting the 2nd best rod to secretly be the best, but it is not the case.

You are proving exactly my point when you claim incorrect statements about how getting more fish has to do with your chain and not rod. It's just untrue. Better rods catch significantly more fish. Combo increases fish too, but higher tier rods also get combo and you will consistently get more fish at any combo level with a higher rod.

You're allowed to keep going back to the old rod and catching a couple shrimp at a time if you want, but when you want to get 25+ at a time at a fair rate you'll swap to the gold rod.

switch rods to simpler ones, you have them in the inventory, they are not sold or thrown away. you can exclude the advanced fish and don't waste time catching them.

So I finally got gold rod earlier today and after using it for a solid hour, it turns out you're wrong. Gold rod increases the loot pool too much so getting shrimp is way too rare. The only real saving grace is that by this point, my diamond(?) tier workers were busy asking for other stuff so shrimp didn't come up much. I literally have over 150 turtles and 200 pufferfish, but only 35 shrimp.

I'm still only getting friggen 6 to 8 shrimp at a time per catch too, and I'm only getting shrimp like 2 or 3 times per 50 fishing attempts. It would be way faster to just go back to the first rod and get 2 shrimp per 3 fishing attemps instead. I'm getting like 17 clownfish but only 8 shrimp, god knows why.

I'm not wrong, you just don't understand statistics or rng. The Gold Rod has literally 5 times the catch rate of Shrimp compared to the previous rod, and it catches more of them per catch on top of that. If you're only catching 6-8 shrimp it means you don't have enough experience to know what you're talking about yet, you will see 20+ drop soon even without a high chain. I've caught literally thousands of shrimp with Gold Rod, sometimes 40+ in a single catch due to chain bonus, and my experience lines up with the actual drop rate just fine.

What's there to understand? I've been doing this for over an hour and I barely get ANY shrimp. You're acting weirdly condescending for someone going "nooo you're wrong because i'm right" as if I haven't been doing this for 19+ friggen hours.
