What upgrades should i keep getting while leveling up?
Everytime I level up I dont seem to know what to really focus on. I usually pick upgrades like the spider and lava one mostly because it hurts enemies from afar. And damage boosting ones aswell.

But for the long run I dont know whats best or whats bad so can anyone help me understand what level up upgrade that can actually be used goodly.

Thank you!

It takes time and practice to learn this stuff, especially because different characters want different things. Fauna for example has healing synergy so she turns healing into bonus damage, so anything that can heal is extra powerful on her. Calli has crit synergies, so using anything to further improve crits will work well. Gura applies Shark Bites per hit, which means fast hitting but low damage weapons like CEO Tears (you might not have this unlocked) work extra well for her because they apply faster and more Shark Bites.

Really you need to look at the 3 skills of a character, and think "how can I take advantage of this", and pick options that might let you do that.

Also how do i check for the first 3 skills of a character?

It sort of depends on the character , and what items you prioritize.

Generally I'll always pick in this order :
Character Skills > Main Weapon > Weapons/Items > Stats > Heal/Money

Of course if you get max fandom then you dont have to worry about Character skills anymore.

The only exception I make to this rule is if I get an early EXP item like Study Glasses. If I get glasses I will pick that ahead of everything every time to maximize the EXP efficiency.

And sometimes I'll pick up the critical stat ahead of everything else if I'm going for Crit build and dont have 100% yet.

Learning your collabs will also help. Lava and spider cooking is a good one to know. Axe and BL book is another staple. But there are a lot more, and they all behave differently. Some are good AoE clearers. Some shoot in one direction. Some have really long wind-up times but really hurt. Some slow enemies down while hurting them. If you want to learn them yourself, I'd maybe recommend focusing on getting at least one collab ASAP in your games. Once you have at least one collab, the mobs become easier to manage and you can take your time the rest of the game to pick up different weapons, max them out, and see if any of them collab into anything.

But if you're not into the experimenting thing, you could also just look them up on the wiki.
