Unable to transfer over my data from my non-steam Holocure save
Is there something I need to do? I know the dev said it's done automatically but i dont have any of my progress so I'm not sure if I need to play at least once for this or something?

I know most you guys have been giving me the same solution as the other discussion thread where I can easily fix it by renaming the typo file, but the issue I have rn is that the Holocure folder doesn't even exist anywhere in my AppData - its just one single shortcut icon that opens the game with all my save data on it and thats not even findable for this fix.

People are skipping you some details by accident, I think.

When you type the %Appdata% into the search bar it brings you to 'Roaming' by default. Go back one folder and select the 'Local' folder instead. HoloCure folder should be in there.

Was automatic for me

I think they have the save file moved to other file path (instead of with other game files) when they remove the launcher I think. You just need to move your save file to the right file path and should works.

That was annoying. In my case, it made a new save file and renamed the old save file by removing the S from the beginning. (Make backups to be safe first but if you swap the names back it should work. I'm typing this while being spammed with achievements.)

It uses the same location for the save file as the previous version (%APPDATA%/Local/Holocure), you sure you have your previous save file there?
Had no issues with the save files syncing over to steam, never used the launcher to play the game beforehand (Build 2/21/2023) so I dunno if that's a factor in it or not.

I've tried searching for it but my save file doesnt exist for some reason. But if thats the case, how does my non-steam launcher have my stuff?

you may be using a sandboxed version of itchio, which doesn't have the save in the usual location

Another user mentions it here:

Automatic for me
Might be the save location.

Well if it helps this is what I did when transferring my save from one computer to the Steam version on this computer.

The save location for the non-Steam and Steam are the same

Save location: AppData\Local\HoloCure

[1] I started the steam version first to create a save then exit.

[2]]Then I go the save location and delete the 2 save files "backup_save_n.dat" and "save_n.dat"

[3] As long as you've save once with ver.0.5 of the game, all you need to do is copy "save_n.dat" from your old device to the same location in the new device.

[4] Start the game and profit.

Feel like this thread could be helpful for transferring the save
