Collectibles maps

On the first game there were vendors that sold maps. Does this game have any or do wee need to walk every inch of the game to collect everything?

It's not until yo get near it. There are carved figurines, green gems, etc.

i've seen icons showing green gems in fog, in places I haven't been.

There are no icons on the map for Greenshine (like it was for Blueglam in HZD), unless it is hidden behind some fireglam, metal flower or something like that. In that case, the fireglam/flower is marked with an "?" on the map.

However, if you need it to upgrade or buy some gear, you can create a job, and in that case, the nearest location of what you need (including Grrenshine and animal parts) shows as a querst marker on the map.

The carved figurines are part of an easteregg. Those are not on the map, just as a sword in a stone, a toy bow, a memorial place and some other stuff.

i create jobs for outfits and weapons so that's how i saw Greenshine on my map.

Those are easy. There are other collectibles that i have stumbled upon. Since everyone is telling me about all the ways that they play, I will assume that there are no maps.

Correct, there are no maps to buy in FW. Everything that could be marked on a map, will show as a "?" on it - at least after overriding the Tallneck in that area.

There are some items that do not appear on the map, just as the "Stranded Items" or (more important) the 5 Power Cells in HZD. But those do not count to 100% progress, and iirc there is no Uber-Item to miss, if you don't get them.
