Zenith base - Erend is dead/squashed?? - SOLVED
Trying not to put spoilers out there, but, in the Zenith base, Erend (for me) is always dead but talking behind Aloy - if you turn to look at him, he's covered in that weird red stuff that is flashing on him (off his hammer??) but he's buried in the sand/at the bottom of a hill/under a rock - he's still talking though. I have never seen him fight AT ALL in this base- not sure if it's due to Aloy being able to jump better and he can't keep up??
I have played thru once and am finishing NG+ now but had the same problem both times. Just curious to know if anyone else is having the same issue.
Probably not critical since none of the npc's seem to do much in there but it's highly funny to find only his boots sticking up out of the sand!

It's prevalent issue during missions in which your companions can be "killed" (knocked unconscious) and you have to revive them when this happens. Sometimes they bug out (my theory is that it happens when they were down when you completed quest stage and game got autosaved before you revived them) and can't be reanimated (interaction doesn't show up), but game still threats them as living, leading to surrealistic scenes when their corpse follow you by teleporting to Aloy's location and they keep talking their lines.
Basing on my experience, the same can happen (again to Erend) in final mission in Rebel's Camp chain, when you face Asera in her hidden base . Only fix I've found is reloading game either to previous checkpoint (but this can, in turn, make enemies disappear) or to save made before point of no return quest phase, and either revive him in time or don't let him die in the first place.
Hi, thanks for the answer, he never has a revive button on him in the Zenith base, don't know why he dies in the first place as it begins when neither he nor Aloy are under attack - it starts in the jumping/traversal section; I should have mentioned I have been back for him but there is no revive button. And you are right it does happen at that rebel base, the difference being that there he does have a revive symbol.
Oh well, you're right - it is a bit surreal! It's not critical, when the time arrives for him to have a certain thing on his back - he's magically upright again.
Appreciate your input.
In Burning Sands, Aloy must recover the 7 Dragon balls to bring erend back to life.
