Horizon Forbidden West™ Complete Edition

Horizon Forbidden West™ Complete Edition

Why is a game that released 3 years ago more expensive now then it was before
This is so silly.
HFW is 79.99 on steam, 65.99 on PS5 and even sillier, its 50$ on the PS4 and allegedly if you buy it on the PS4 you get a free PS5 upgrade to it anyways, so the 15.99$ price difference is just for chumps who didn't know better.

Anyways, why is the price of the game only increasing as time goes on? Its a pre-order for a game that already came out lol

it's not more expensive as on release the base game cost $60 and now you're getting the complete edition for the same price

and it's two years old, not three

How about inflation? And please do not forget our Russian idiot that with his actions raised prices global wide?
79,99 what?

The game is £50 here in the UK, when it released on the PS4 it was £60 and on the PS5 it was £70.

You do realise that Sony didn't just put a PS5 disk in their magic porting PC, and 3D print a PC port, it took an entire company and hundreds if not thousands of people 3 years to port it over. How would you suggest Sony pay their wages?

Looking at the ps store right now the complete edition is on sale for $ 39.59, down from 59.99, that sale ends on the 21st.

Both of the listings for ps4/5 are standard editions and don't include the dlc which is normally priced at $19.99 (currently on sale for 12.99)
Also worth noting the game is included in their PS plus extra catalog.

The Steam version is the complete edition for $59.99 which is the same price as the normal price for the ps5.

Okay fair I was looking at the base game prices. I didn't not know it was only a complete edition. Fun fact PSN is selling the complete edition on PS5 for 52$ until the exact day steam releases it.

Thats an incredibly dumb point. They had no problem porting it from PS4 to PS5 that they literally give the upgrade away for free. Should all games upsell ports because working on a game is hard to do?
Maybe mmos like wow or xiv should add an extra 5$ to their subscription fees because your technically getting more content this month then you got last month.
Should games demand you pay for content updates and patches because maintenance isn't free either?

very bad precedent to set.

it's a whole different story porting from ps to pc due to the difference in hardware and thousands of different computer hardware configurations

Well they benefit from the fact that they have an entire new audience of gamers to sell to, essentially refreshing the initial burst of income as if they dropped the game for the first time. So we really shouldn't act like this is a selfless act and the poor employees won't have their wages, they're about to reap the spoils of a 2 and a half year old game as though it was brand new for us and make bank.

consider the fact that sony went decades without porting anything to pc, if you want more ports, you should buy their ports

that or wait for sale

exactly its coming with the addon for a lower price they had to pay on console without the addon thats kinda fair.

PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West used to cost $60 and the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West was around $70 once again no addon, think about it we pay the oldgen price so its definitely fair.

All you that don't know you can buy from other stores to get discounts on the price... I paid less than 50 for my copy through greenman gaming lol
It's aged gently, like a fine wine and for some bizarre reason Nixxes, who did the port, expect to be paid for their work.
Is this some of you people's 1st day on Steam? I never pay more than $40 for any game I play. Most cost about $25, bug free, run smoother, and have all DLCs included
The game did not release three years ago. HFW is a different game than HZD. HFW released in 2022, and its Burning Shores expansion (also included in the PC version) released in mid-2023.
