Aloy is acting annoyed at times, but I think that's part of the story, having to tell (almost) the same stuff to different clans and people yet again.
They overloaded the game with trials and especially countless weapons and weapon modifications. This is the most annoying part for me.
Still, that said, I enjoy it and if you do the vast amount of side missions as well,
it's only a couple of cents per hour playtime - not really expensive.
- Controls of Aloy and mounts and wall climbing is atrocious as hell and infuriating sometimes.
- Games is overlitered with dialogues which are boring as hell and you will "skip skip skip" your way through them.
- Way too much grind for ressources and ammo crafting materials
- Way too much side activities which are boring as hell
- Fighting pit/machine arena/hunting grounds are freaking annoying
- Melee combat and stealth is basically none existing and badly implemented.
- And there is the political stuff. The people who say this game is woke are kinda right. Most tribe leaders and badass warriors are women and most couples and relationships are geh ones. I think the only straight couple are Varl and Zo and the game checks in for every today's social justice norm. Quest with an openly trans guy warrior who is complaining how others mocked him for wearing female armor, and a major character who belongs to a tribe of vegans first thing to do was to try to convert his new boyfriend to veganism. And other similar nonsense.
I'm now at the point after 80h where i'm already bored as hell and can't wait to finally finish this game. And started to ignore every side activity just to rush through the game. (Never done such thing in any other open world adventure games)
In HFW the writing arbitrarily puts all the pressure on Aloy which makes her more irritating and irritated, this does change as the game progresses. The supply of Focuses which in part led to why Aloy was significant to begin with is now in infinite supply. The world itself is visually stunning and it was a treat to me to adventure in it. The interpersonal dialogue was "better" but not with most of the returning cast. My personal favorite addition is Kotallo, its all brass tax with him. The weapons are more varied and on hand ammo not as plentiful. It reminded me of the transition between Doom 2016 and Eternal.
I enjoy both games, I could see why one might like one or the other more just boils down what you preferred from each. I would have liked to see a bit more of Sylens in HFW but it is what it is.
We played different games then.
Here in this title she often cuts straight to aggression when she doesn't get what she wants and also her constant blabber during random adventures out in the world, she sounds like an entitled activist with pronounce and colored hair. Who believes if someone isn't proactively working under her hand, that person needs to be an enemy.
She is way too annoying for me, sassy and the "baddass woman" touch makes her actually cringe IMO and hateful actually a person I would punch if I could, but this is MY OWN personal opinion some dialogues and cutscenes are painful to watch for me. Besdies the constant comments on everything you do (the player). I get she has grown up and all the way of thinking she can manage alone and all bla bla but meeeh. I've expected more. So, for me? Yep, 2 different versions of Aloy and I miss her HZD personality. Was something... special. This dunno what it is. Hero-wannabe-im-busy saving the world-tier dont wast me precious time type.
I get your comment I really do, for me It is called dissapointment, because as someone who got more than 100h in the first title and I enjoyed a lot 100% it, then replayed it in NG+ I had expectations for the sequel and so far.... Im just not having a blast of fun like I had with ZD, I cant connect with the game, cannot engage with it, I am currently forcing myself to play and is not the right thing to do, meaning Im taking it as a "task" I do want to enjoy it I really do, the visuals are superb everything else huh... not quite the experience I thought I would encounter myself with...
you can literally ignore the political stuff (just make Aloy not kiss that Girl, its so easy).
I never even saw those transppl in that game and i have 100h in Ps4.
I think that the characters are all shallow, even in HZD!
the combat is better imo, but thats an individual thing.
the story is just a Continuation and as far as i saw, has a red string it follows!
Though i wouldve loved it, if they either stayed out of the romance or made it so u can choose between Erend and others maybe?
I feel liek That a lot of hate came from the media and that fans mightve overexpected what is in it.
I actually love HFW more than HZD gameplaywise
imagine being an outcast to then suddenly being their hero.
Her actions and behaviour in HFW mimics that.
She doesnt want friends or anything, because she didnt have that in her childhood.
I think its a perfect Image of it and u will notice that later ingame, that she starts being appreciative and wants her friends around
