Still black areas on map

Why do have black areas on my map? I know I explored these areas. Fo example, the location of the APEX Dreadwing and Storm bird.

Because "impassable" mountains are shown as black and those are "hidden", "secret" areas high in these mountains.

But i have been there already, killed the Dreadwing and Stormbird, and Slaughterspine near by

Yes, but they still remain black. There are even some locations with markers in black areas...

Ok, I get it. Part of something in the future. still stupid. If i managed to get there, it should open up on map. It's ok. I'll play along.

I think it disappears once you complete Gemini which gives you access to overriding a Sunwing. This is pretty much the end of the main quest line.
