As I wrote, the voices turn silent througout the game. The work for an unspecified time and suddenly, the chat voices are not heard anymore. This has nothing to do with the sound settings.
On the other hand, I have seen a few other posts about this issue and still no real fix from the developers. A restart of the game is not a real fix as the issue reoccurs after an unspecified time.
Thx for the post.
I guess this is a thing that needs to be addressed at the developer end as there are dozens of posts regarding this everywhere.
I still need to check, whether this happens only in the Steam/Windows version or also in the PS5 version. However, this will take some time.
I have only SSD's in my computer.
It is a random effect which is not affected by the type of sound. Other sounds have no issue. Also in other towns this seem not to be an issue.
Could also be a streaming issue of some kind. What kind of SSD is the game on?
SATA SSDs can't use DirectStorage so data streaming is significantly limited.
For graphics problems I'd also suggest checking for heat problems but that's highly unlikely for a sound problem, especially if other sounds work.
I never encountered that problem myself. I currently have the game on a Samsung 970 Evo Plus (PCIe3, 3.5GB/s) NVMe SSD and I have 32GB RAM.
Totally irrelevant. First walthrough I did not have this issue. It is a completellly random effect. Sometimes it happens the next time not.
BTW both of my gaming SSD's are 4TB NVME's on PCIx4 and I have 64GB RAM.
Update: I just had only one persons voice silent. The person on her side and Aloy's were Ok.
Also, if you have an nVidia card, try disabling reflex. There have been posts that it causes weird bugs like that. Usually graphics, but who knows...
It is an absolutely random effect. Sometimes it happens, but mostely not.
9800X3d, Nvidia 4080 Super. 64GB DDR5 Ram. Game on motherboard SSD stick.
No Windows updates, no driver updates, nothing?
Other than running on SSD and your RAM, we don't even know which Windows, or how you output the sound.
Furthermore, this has been reported already since the first time the game was released on PC (Several reports found in Google). Therefore, any change is irrelevant as the issue has not been fixed from the beginning and is not related to the PC's at all.
BTW: As there is no real contribution, I will consider this as "NOT SOLVED" and will unsubscribe.
