requirement for PlayStation Network account?
Apparently, Sony now requires a PlayStation Network account, does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, you will need to log into a PSN account (or, rather, have it linked with Steam) in order to play the game. You can still be offline for up to 30 days and the game will continue working, but at least once per 30 days, you need to briefly reconnect, so that the platform can validate your ownership of the game and that you are in good standing with PSN (i.e., haven't been banned).

I dont have a PSN account and I dont plan to make one, I own HFW since the pre-order and played it way over than 30 days. Never asked me to make one.

Still upcoming titles will require one, including the HZD Remaster. I dont discard this being a possibility for HFW soon. But right now? No. You can play without it.

No idea where Alcator got his info from, but no PSN account is required to play this game (yet). I'm currently playing (completed the base game, now play the DLC) and I don't even have a PSN accout.

He's clearly linking to an article about the REMASTER, so that's what I was talking about. Take it with the OP for making a mess of sentence structure.

I made a PSN account for Ghost of Tsushima, started the game and got my free goodies and then turned off PSN. That was back in May when the game released. I've never signed back in again and the game still starts just fine. I think the 30 day limit only applies to Playstation not PC

I haven't done it yet, but as far as I know, you don't simply log in with your PSN account, but instead link it to your Steam account. This way, you don't need to log in anymore, because Sony directly get the data from your Steam account.

Wrong forum to ask to begin with... PSN requirement only pertains to the remaster version of HZD.. HFW doesnt have that requirement.

So what...
Now lets see if you also will complain about Xbox doing same

It would be illegal for them to make this specific version of the game require a PSN account, so no, they would not add a PSN requirement to Forbidden West.

New games (remasters are technically that) is another matter. It's entirely up to them if they want to go for it. I don't mind since that gives me a free pass to play those games for free without any right for them to complain about it.

They do for HZD Remaster. Forbidden West doesn't require PSN.
