Has anyone got machine grapple strike to work?

When machine is stunned, electrocuted or tied down triangular marker will appear on it. Jump into the air then jump again (as if you were grappling to a climbing point), that will grapple you to machine. Then wait until the indicator appears and press attack when it is in blue part, it is basicaly a quick time event. That will energize the machine and then you can shoot it.

Definitely not working right based on what you said. I thought the machine only had to be knocked down? Is there a difference between knocked down and stunned? I've yet to see any marker when jumping and hitting jump again when machine is down.

Working just fine, doing it regularly.

It does need to be properly knocked down - it will have a little icon and a white border. If that's not there, the machine just stumbled and will get up soon.

Actually, I uploaded a video a few days ago. Took it early in the Burning Shores, but there are no spoilers unless seeing the landscape there counts.

At 3:57, the machine gets knocked down. There's the triangle icon above it and the grey/white 3-star circle icon with the border that acts like a progress bar. Uhhh.... you don't need to keep watching after that to see me miss the blue target. And miss again. And again. And... jeez me, that's just sad.

There's another example at 0:35 which works out better. I don't totally suck. ;)

The machine has to be stunned... you cannot do it on a knocked down enemy. You have to trigger it while you are in mid air.. jump straight up and then press jump again while in mid air when you are within range to trigger the grapple strike sequence.

You will get the circle prompt which you have to time it to do the spear stab to deal good damage and trigger the resonator glow on the machine which you can blow up with an arrow for extra blast damage.

Its one skill I would try to unlock early as it can take out smaller enemies pretty quickly and deal some decent damage to medium ones.

The video shows the machine going down after enough arrow hits. So that tells me stunned/knocked down is the same. I am not getting that icon and I have tried it multiple times. Maybe I'll just reset my skills and say ♥♥♥♥ this one.
