It isn't about pixel perfection, but rather about finding right spot. They are always near origin comm tower, and Aloy will give you tips where to look further with her commentary monologue until you nail it. Proper spot is always marked by small "lookout" construction, in same way jump origin point in survey drones quests are, and are almost universally placed in some sort of ruins. Overall, it's like searching for collectibles in HZD basing on their general map position, and I'd call it a good small exploration activity in break of pursuing quests.
'Near origin', until .... far west ... but I hated them too, more because I had to fight machines to find the right spot. And after a while I found a way to 'see' the spot where it must be taken. No fun, and the aerial ones are even worse

On Console its no problem since underwater looks like no different from on land.
Ahhhh, the annoying one; pretty much only one that cause troubles due to perspective - thou actually it challenges your way of thinking (because you are in water and by deafult think in 3D environment, while it should be threaten like others - as taken on land, from land perspective).
Vistas in HZD give background on Miriam Technologies, company of Elizabeth Sobeck and struggle to restore world devastated by climate change and wars - story of hope, to counterbalance much darker tone (or at least burden placed on Aloy) of main story compared to HZD.
Nope, it is indeed about pixel perfection. Yesterday, i was doing the one in Plainsong, and i was focus-walking every pixel on that platform, aloy constantly saying "i'm almost right" but it wouldnt activate. then i went onto smt else, and later googled just to see that the location is the exact spot i was in 5 times before.
Exact same happened to me in the Las Vegas Ruins. Seems to be quite weird, i'm pretty sure this wasn't an issue on PS4, but i may be wrong.
This may be port-specific issue caused by one of the hotfix patches, or yet another weird configuration issue. From my experience, vistas autocomplete as soon as you reach right spot and light Focus up, even before you manage to line image up.
There is no Pixel-point-precision involved.
No they don't, for the most of them you need to be in the exact spot, looking in the exact direction, often doing mini-steps in any direction until it finally clicks.
There are a couple that clicks even when you are off the target.
