Bug: Can't start any Hunting or Melee Pit challanges anymore.

It started when doing the 'Plasma Blast Trial' on the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds. First 2 Challanges was working all fine, but on 3rd challange when i failed or wanted to restart the timer and went back to the grounds keeper to restart 3rd trial (can't remember exactly as its some time ago by now), but it wouldn't let me. I could talk to the keeper and it would let me select out of the 3 trials etc, but whenever i started a trial it went back to the game and the keeper gave me the dialogue as i declined a trial ('farewell' 'another time' etc.). Jumping into the ground also doesn't start the trial, nor that any trial was still going on or smth like that. Also died and killed that machines in there but nothing changed.

Thinking nothing of it (Big error, should have reloaded probably to a save where it still worked immediately) i left the ground thinking it would fix itself eventually and work if i come back to another Hunting ground later down the line, but it didn't. In fact since then when i start a melee pit trial, it does in fact put me into the pit, but WITHOUT ANY ENEMY AND NO WAY TO GET OUT OF THE PIT. The only way to exit is to reload a save. Of course i can't guarantuee it comes from the same bug as the hunting grounds, but I assume so atleast.
After that i tried going back to one of the hunting grounds to test if it's still bugged, and yes it is. It doesn't matter on which hunting ground (tried all) or which challenge i select, I can not start any of them, and i have absolutely no idea how to fix it. wouldn't really matter that much to me, but i can't do The Enduring quest line since i can't finish the last melee pit at all :(. The big Arena challenges or Strike still do work and are startable btw.

I found no real bug report with a similair bug, or am i blind? Is there anything i can do to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my save and fix it? really annoying as i don't have any extra save slots before that bug first happened and im like 70 hours in :/

Omg, same, i just finished the skylands hunting trials and all other melee and hunting trials refuse to start. Let me know if you find anything! I found something about equipping the champion spear but i already have it

Same for me... I climbed out of Hunting Ground to restart. But now when I press Space Bar to continue, she says good bye.

I found a fix! I was unable to start hunting trials and for melee trials i would get stuck in an empty pit

Not sure what is the exact fix, but here's what i did:
-changed armor
-unequipped all bows
-abandoned / deleted all jobs i created to find upgrade parts
- telepprted a bit and fought a few machines
-tried a round of machine strike

I was able to start and finish the hunting and melee trials. Restarting the pc and game did not help, and i honestly suspect the upgrade jobs to be the main culprit.

Thx for your help. I will try your suggestion. But I dont think the Upgrade Jobs causes the bug. I had no Job active while this happend to me.

Well if you are all having the same problem, it's a PC bug that they're gonna have to patch out.

I can't really comment about whether or not the issue is on Playstation. I've yet to finish all the hunting stuff in the game. kinda in the process of doing it now. But I doubt the PS has problems since it would be all over the internet, by now.

I hated the hunting grounds stuff in the first game... (mainly because the weaons you get are no better than the ones you can buy) so pretty much ignored it for this game.

Likely, but the issue did get fixed for me somehow, so there must be a way. Submitting a bug report, then waiting for a fix that might not come for weeks, if at all, is not a fun prospect :( ...

Same super annoying. Reddit suggests this has been an issue for a few years starting on the playstation version and has never been fixed.

It is not a PC bug. Been out since playstation and is "all over the internet", but thanks for the unhelpful opinion and failing to look it up before making statements.
