Help: really poor performance
I own a 3080 12GB, 10850K 32GB RAM. Game is running from an nvme ssd.
I'm at Barren Light right now an my FPS is constantly below 30 FPS. I run the game on 1280 x 720 on the very low preset.
I reinstalled all my drivers. I know my pc is old but not that old that the game should run worse than on a PS4.
I turned everything off. Reflex is OFF. I actually don't know what to do anymore.

Your performance does seem very sub-par; I'm running an i7-9700F and a RTX 4070 with 32GM of RAM, myself, and I can net a mostly steady 140FPS (with Frame Generation; without, it's about 90-110) on the High preset with some tweaks mixing in some Medium-like settings.

Check your thermals, to ensure your CPU or GPU aren't getting too hot (over 80C on the GPU, and/or over 85C on the CPU), in tandem with ensuring your Windows Power Plan isn't on Power Saver mode; use Balanced or High Performance.

Also a decent idea to ensure you don't have any third-party antivirus running in the background, or other demanding applicatons.

1) Did you use DDU (from Guru3D only) ? if not, I recommend to uninstall your current driver with DDU in SAFE mode only + NO internet otherwise Windows will download and install automatically Nvidia drivers.

Then reboot normally and install your GPU driver.

your settings maybe are too high

I have similar specs to the commenter and my performance is very poor as well. I have reduced almost all of my graphical settings from high to medium and using DLSS. 2560x1440 (but I think I’ll reduce to 1080 p.

It’s ridiculous that a pc with 3080 RTX and i9 processor pruning game from an SSD gets such sluggish performance, and yet a PS5 which has inferior hardware runs the game smoothly.

I thought people said Nixxes released a great port. Why then does a system with specs better than a PS5 run the game so poorly?

I get max 15fps. Using a 40980 and a i9 1300k. Its shocking. Iv tried every single thing to fix without look. No matter what settings i change the 15fps dosnt improve or get worse. Its awful. Even my 6 year old said it looks like garbage and iv no idea why. Iv spent 7 full hours of my time trying to mess around with windows and various settings with no luck. I demanded a refund but as it shows i have 7 hours the refund is not possible. Iv complained top sony 3 times and not heard nothing back. This is the first ever game in my life that has sucked as bad as this to the point i cannot play it what so ever

My gpu says 100 percent utilise, but only puts out 110 wats where normally it should put out 300-400 wats. The game is really badly opotomnised but i dont underrstand how some people have great experiences but with me itgs so dreadfull

several wrongs in that post..
First: The PS5 is not inferior to your potato.
Second: The game is made for the PS5.

A 3080 is good for 60fps @High settings in 1440p. If you cant get it there your system is poop

HOW?

I have an 4090 and 17-13700 and run the game in 4k,Very High(Max setting) in 150-170 FPS. (DLLS/DLAA/FG)

Thermals are fine My GPU doesn't get hotter than 50°C, my CPU doesn't get warmer than 65°C. It's a full custom loop I'm running.
The funny thing is that I see full GPU utilization on very low settings and 1280 x 720. Which is really akward. No matter what settings I use the FPS stay nearly the same.

Makes me wonder; as most people for some reason still use the program, are you using NVIDIA's GeForce Experience and having it "optimize" your game(s)? Often times, that entire application does more harm than good, in my observation and experience. If you are using it, and having it perform that function, I might recommend removing it. In tandem with what I already mentioned, I would also suggest what someone else brought up; run DDU to remove your GPU driver outright, then do a fresh install of a 551.86 driver from scratch (and forego GeForce Experience).
