What happened? Did someone take charge that doesnt have a clue what fishing is? Swimming after the fish? You do know that they are slimy and catching them this way is damn near impossible in real life. In HZD you shot them or blew them up (the latter was more satisfying). In this game you cant shoot them or blow them up. You MUST swim after them. Also, there are so few of them you can actually catch. On average I see 3. yes, just 3. In HZD I could toss a bomb into the water and get 7 in that one blast. Why are these changes done?

Wait! You think blowing fish up with explosives is a more realistic way of farming usable fish than swimming after them? 🤣

I wonder more why Aloy can not use her spear underwater than why needing to swim to catch fish. Although.... is there no genius in that time that though of a stick, a rope, and a hook?

there's also absolutely zero need to fish in this game, because you can literally buy every ingredient in the game from vendors

fishing with explosives is very much a real thing. ("might" be slightly illegal)
