Is it "possible" that SONY will change HFW for PC on Steam to require PSN? It's "possible" because they have the power to push an update that adds the requirement.

However, on release HFW for PC on Steam listed PSN as OPTIONAL if you want access to a couple of pretty much just cosmetic items.

Given this was what was stated on release, and people purchased the game based on that, if SONY were to update the game to require PSN, one might actually see a class-action lawsuit against SONY for changing the game requirements.

One might "speculate" that for SONY, the chance of having to deal with a class-action lawsuit if they change PSN to be required would make the change not worthwhile.

(For multiplayer games, one might "speculate" that SONY wants the PSN requirement so they have more ability to police the online multiplayer community, to be able to get rid of griefers and egregious cheaters. In a multiplayer game, griefing and cheating can really hurt the game's reputation. But HFW is a single-player game, so there isn't even such as thing as griefing or cheating for HFW.)

A PSN account is not required to play Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC.

It is possible to link your Steam account to PlayStation Network to receive extra in-game items. This is optional.

It's suggested to link a PSN account to the PC version of this game, so you can get some exclusive armor and weapons (get some upgrade material, too but that don't matter). But no, u don't "have to" link any PSN account.

If Sony do require linking to a PSN account it's for multi player. In the case of Ghost of Tsushima, the single player game won't require it, but, the multi player will. Helldivers 2 was cross platform which was why Sony sought to do it. It seems as though they may drop the idea altogether after fan backlash.

Don't rule anything out.....
