Can someone please point out what exactly changed with Aloy's face between games? For the life of me it looks like the same texture and model.
I'm not *great* with faces, but I straight up can't tell the difference between the this and the original game. Not even slightly. They are the same face. Is there a picture with some differences circled maybe? A model rip comparison between the two games? Anything to actually show what changed?

She has more rounded cheeks and seems a bit heavier from what i can read with people, it also does not make sense she became a bit "larger" since she is so active and not really taking breaks while looking for GAIA

fatter and older which does not make sense at all since its only 6 moths between end of HZD and HFW.

Yeah, this. Face shape is exactly the same. Texture quality has been greatly improved, sadly it shows her blemishes or akne.

To me, she looks like she just got more sun burned freckles on the cheeks, which you can face paint over.

Essentially, they upped the number of polygons on her face and added some more color into her cheeks, which makes them optically just a teensy bit wider.

This is 'mountains out of molehills' kind of situation. No, "Candy Child Ltd" did not work on this game -- Guerilla is situated in one of the most egalitarian countries on the planet and these people know very well how to write interesting characters.

There is a ton of 'uncanny valley' going on in characters' faces, especially in the first ~5 hours of the game, because those areas and cutscene choreography were pretty clearly made first AND probably during Covid lockdowns when proper motion capture wasn't possible and/or facial scanning wasn't as mature as they would want it to be. It gets better once you get through the Embassy. But Uncanny Valley isn't "uglification", it's just an unfortunate consequence of trying to go for realistic faces.

slightly rounder face which looks 10x more realistic IMO, a bit more suburnt because shes spending time in sunny and open areas like meridian instead of the embrace, general NORMAL facial features like slight smile wrinkles THAT EVERY PERSON HAS and general textural improvements, the people complaining are just crying that she looks like an actual human being

If I wanted to look at actual human beings, I'd go outside and not play a computer game. I just looked at my wife; she's a human being from what I can tell, and she doesn't look like an ugly obese person. And I know how an ugly obese person looks like, because I:
- have plenty of mirrors around house;
- seen Aloy in Horizon: Forbidden West.
