6900XT and Ryzen 7 5800X FPS Issues?
Hey guys, I've been messing with the game for hours trying everything I can find to get some performance gains. I'm running a 6900XT with a Ryzen 7 5800x (All stock, no OC) and 16 GB of DDR4 3600. I also have the game on a M.2 NVME 1 TB with about 400 GB to spare.

On everything on Medium Settings I'm getting around 50-55 FPS as my highest fps at 1080P, TAA, 100HZ, Vsync on and off (same performance regardless), fullscreen exclusive. Same with high and very high with average of 46-51 FPS for both high and very high regardless (also odd since I should be expecting much better performance on medium settings).

With AMD overlay I have 40-60% GPU utilization and 70-90% utilization of the CPU which I find very odd as well... I enabled Smart Access Memory (SAM) as well to see if I got any noticeable gains and still nothing.

Also I've done a DDU clean driver install as part of my endeavors. Still no gains.

5800x can get pretty warm. What is your temps? Maybe your cpu is throttling due to heat.

Either a config issue in the drivers or the game or mobo,GPU,CPU getting to hot.
You might wanna get hwid and check the max temps when ur gaming to rule that out.

I have a 6800xt + 5600x with a nvme and 16gb and I run this game at 100 fps at 2k reso on highest settings

I have a HTPC with a 5800x and a 2080 and although I haven't played much of this on it, from what I have played, it seems to run at a locked 60 at 1080p max settings, considering a 6900XT is considerably faster than a 2080, you should be doing a lot better than you are.

I'm running a ryzen 9 5900x cpu and 6900xt gpu, 32 gigs of ram off and m.2 drive. When I first started playing i was only getting 70-80fps, the first thing that made a big difference was turning off dynamic resolution scaling, after that i had to turn up my fan speeds on the gpu to get the temps down. Then I tuned the clocked speed to a minimum of 2445 and a max of 2555, then undervolted to 1080mV, now I'm getting 140fps at 2k on very high settings. Still see drops during cut scenes down to 70 fps sometimes but game play has been really good.

Since the others are giving good advice, I'll add another. Delete your shader cache after everything and have the game always run with Admin privileges. Also, either do it manually each time, or use a program like Process Lasso to set the CPU Priority for the game to High.

With that hardware, your game should definitely be performing better, but that 1080P resolution may also be limiting it actually. you might get better performance at a higher res in fact. So max out all your graphics settings and don't use any scaling.

I have a 5800X paired with 7900XTX and 64GB RAM, so slightly different but not too different...and I come from a long time use of a 6900XT so I'm familiar with its capabilities. It should be singing a symphony with this game as well developed as it is.

If you need any help with procedures to anything I said or more suggestions, feel free to ask.

That's def odd, also check your windows startup apps and turn off all 3rd party (non windows) applications but steam .

I've just ran the game for a bit and maxed out the settings. CPU is hovering 60C and GPU is 57C is it seems like the game is not really pushing my hardware.

Is xmp/docp enabled in the bios? Its weird because you should be getting better performance with that cpu, gpu and ram combo and it doesn't seem like heat is an issue. Do other games perform as expected with that hardware combo?

I have a 6900xt paired with a 5800x3d and 3600 ddr4 ram myself. Just to give you an idea, I'm averaging 87fps @1440p with all the graphical options maxed. Running the game in 1080p at very high settings I'm averaging a bit more.
